  1. I'll share! I was completely sold for Pampers when she was little but now that she's 16 months I find she can wear just about any diapers. We are using some kroger and huggies and luvs size 3 for day. (there were sales so I bought an abundance!) but I did buy pampers size 4 for night with a gift card and then got a 15 dollar gift card back at babys r us. I thought I was going to have to go to pampers at night for always because she kept wetting through but then realized I just needed to go to a 4!

My only sadness is that I never new about the pampers gifts to grow points when she was little and I used them all the time. I'm trying to work my way towards some free picture developing!

  2. Ahh…a confession! That is so funny because I was just telling my husband this week that I too really like Huggies! We bought Pampers until Cristian moved to a size 3, then we just could not afford to keep buying them. We have bought Huggies at Costco ever since. A few weeks back I got a pack of Pampers Cruisers on sale and I was so excited. It has been months and months since Cristian has worn Pampers and I was just sure that he was missing out. I used those Cruisers a total of 1 day and I was back to Huggies! They are defineatly softer than the Huggies, but with my little guy, they just could not hold up. We have to change him often because he drinks a lot of water and goes alot. The Pampers leaked during both his naps that day. I love the Pampers Swaddlers for newborns, but once they start moving around, Huggies are my brand. I confess.

Oh, and does it bother you as much as it does me that diapers have all that print on them? I just want a plain, white, diaper. No print, no characters, no size number balloon. I guess that is another plus to the swaddlers. Alomst makes me wanna use cloth…almost.

  3. eh, I never did like Pampers. If you tried the Huggies Overnight diapers on Elias, especially when he gets a tiny bit bigger and his bladder is larger and holds more, you will be thankful you have them. Believe me. If our son falls asleep in the car and we get home, I'll still put him in an overnight even if he's sleeping…because inevitably, he will urinate like crazy and wet the bed in the middle of the night.

  4. I was totally a Pampers fan…until I started shopping the sales. Now I find that I buy huggies more and more frequently because I can usually get them for a lot cheaper than Pampers. Lots of huggies coupons out there, and it seems like better sales at the stores!'

I second the PP about Huggies overnights. Even when I was Pampers partial, we used these for nighttime and they ROCK!

  5. My confession is that as a first time mom 8 years ago, I decided on Huggies at the recommendation of a friend and was too green to ever use anything else! I used Huggies up until she was potty trained! Ah, new moms! I think I would be a lot more laid back now. However, I always heard that Huggies worked better on girls and Pampers on boys (hence the reason I used Huggies)!

  6. I am a Pampers lover! But I do agree with you on some points. Huggies does offer better coupons and I have bought the Huggies at times when money has been extremely tight. But for our 8 month old baby girl, I prefer the Pampers Cruisers.
I usually buy them at our wholesale club, BJ's, because it seems to be more economical that way than going to Wal-Mart every week for diapers.
Maybe someone should clue Pampers into the fact of Huggies' coupons being better.
And one more thing, I like to buy the Pampers because of their Gifts to Grow program.

  7. Can't say the same. I love pampers. My oldest (now 4) always leaked with Huggies, so I never tried them with my youngest (who also has super sensitive skin, so I try not to change things too much). I love the pampers cruisers. I didn't really like the baby dry, so I've stuck with cruisers. I usually buy the "special" boxes at Target, but occasionally will get at Toys R Us with coupons and a TRU gift card. I track all of my gifts to grow points and have gotten some toys for the girls. My sis-in-law buys the costco brand diapers and has never had an issue – my kids got a bad rash with them. I do, however, buy the Huggies pull-ups. 🙂

  8. I am a Pampers lover and because one of mine can't wear Huggies (or anything else for that matter other than Baby Dry, he breaks out in a rash) I have stuck with them. But even when we did try others I always ended liking Pampers better. If you go to Amazon.com you can actually have a huge box delievered (we get 2 each month because we have twins) and if you sign up for auto shipping the shipping is free. It worked out to like .24 or .25 cents a diaper for the size they are in now (5). Cheaper than anywhere else I ever found them plus they deliver them each month to my house! I only wish I had discovered this when they were younger!!!!!

  9. I was all pampers until a few months ago. I got Huggies on sale and ended up sticking with them. ALthough we have used Huggies overnights for a while! The last couple of weeks I have gone to Babies R Us and gotten the new Fisher Price diapers. They have day and night in one box. We like them and they are cheaper.

  10. I'm all over the place with the diapers! We always used Pampers until one day I started buying Target brand. I definitely did not like them as much, but I like the price and they didn't leak! They never have her size in stock anymore so I had been using Luvs. The last few times my husband went to Target, he brought home Pampers and I remember why I liked them the best! I don't mind Huggies in general, but something about the cut just doesn't work well for our daughter. Although, right now I like no diapers and hope she'll be fully potty trained soon!

  11. my 2 kiddos have been huggies babies! I have never tried pampers so I can't compare, but I love huggies (never had a problem with them)!

  12. I love Huggies! And now that my son is in size 4, all we use is Huggies Overnight…even during the day. They are great for car trips, etc. and NEVER leak!

  13. I, too, was a pampers lover until my little boy turned 2 – then I switched to Huggies. He always seemed to leak out of the pampers. Now that we are potty training, I love the huggies for boys pullups. If he does have an accident, they still hold everything in… so no leaks. PLUS, for some reason, I receive tons of coupons for huggies brand items.

  14. Funny.

I, too, found that Pampers Swaddlers were the only way to go as a newbie-size2. I found during the day that Pampers Cruisers were the only thing that worked for my son, but Huggies were better at night. And in fact I began ONLY purchasing Huggies Overnights once he was about 18 months old. He was waking up totally SOAKED through if I put him in a Pamper at night so we began converting to Huggies for bedtime completely – try it for Elias. He's now potty trained during the day and wears a pull-up at night. There's another big toss up. Pampers Easy Ups or Pull Ups. For now I buy whatever is on sale or less expensive.

But again I'm back to Swaddler-ville because I have a 3 month old as well! 🙂 I even find there was a HUGE difference between Pampers Baby Dry and the Swaddlers. I'm giving Huggies a 2nd chance now that they have come out with Little Snugglers. I still find the legs leak big time with a blow out, but actually really like the catch pouch (pocketed waistband) that is built in the back. We'll see what happens because Huggies absolutely has better deals and coupons!

  15. Well I will confess I like Huggies Pull Ups better than Pampers Pull Ups. (not sure what they are called for Pampers)
I use Pampers for Diapers on both my kids, never had too much of a problem with leaking. I tried Huggies for my daughter but she had special needs and Huggies didn't fit her right. I could use them now but I haven't tried them.
The Pull Ups are so nice, they have a way to get them on and off without having to take shoes socks and pants off. I used the Pampers brand one time and went straight back to the store for the Huggies.
I have not gotten a Pampers coupon in the mail in over a year. Yet I get Huggies coupons all the time.

  16. I used to be a Pampers snob also so I totally understand where you're coming from. I still don't care for Huggies diapers though as the cut seems to bother my 20 month old. Since we're about to start potty training anyways, I've switched to Target brand diapers and LOVE THEM. I do however plan on switching back to Pampers when my second daughter is born in January.

  17. Is there Costco in Nashville? Huggies actually makes the Kirkland brand diapers! I know becuase my dad works for Huggies. And no, I don't get free diapers. 🙁 Anyways, the Kirkland is a generic brand but comprable to the Huggies Supreme. I prefer Huggies Supreme, they are so soft and they really do absorb a lot!

  18. I agree…Pampers rock for size NB, 1 & 2…Huggies are so much better for size 3! We switched to Luvs for size 4 and 5 and have been super happy. Finally we are in the process of saying good-bye to diapers now!

  19. Don't like the Pampers Baby Dry, but love the papmpers cruisers, mine never leak in them. Mine did better with the huggies when they were tiny, then much better with the cruisers… I guess it depends on the shape of your little one! I don't like luvs for the off brands, so money is tight, but I am still a diaper snob!

  20. I haven't used Pampers since my daughter(almost 5) was a newborn…I just didn't like anything past the swaddlers, then they changed the swaddlers when my first son was born and I didn't like them. (Plus I personally think Pampers smell terrible.) We've always been a Huggies(or Kirkland brand since they are the same) family. Though now we are hooked on the Target brand diapers:-) which we use part time and do cloth too.

  21. Cloth all the way. I can't stand to toss disposable diapers. If I must, I really like Seventh Generation. No leaks and super trim!

  22. I've always preferred Pampers – until recently… My sister, who was also preferred pampers told me about the new Huggies Pure and Natural. She said I had to try them – I thought she was crazy. But, I tried them and I haven't gone back to pampers since. I like using cloth, but when I am at work the family members that play with my son do not share my cloth belief. So, I've found the next best thing to be the new Huggies! They are soft and we haven't had ANY leaks! Wahoo!

  23. My daughter is 16 years old now, but when she was in diapers my favorite changed with the size she was in. It was whatever fit her the best at that time.

  24. For some reason, even before my daughter was born, I was a Pampers fan… loved them. Never even conidered using Huggies… BUT someone bought me a huge box of huggies that I couldn't return for Pampers- so of course I used free diapers and NOW I LOVE HUGGIES! They aren't quite as soft as Pampers, but I think that's better and they seem to last longer. I feel like change her all the time in Pamper… which mean they are even more expensive since she goes through morea day! I have even switched to Huggies wipes because I feel like they are thicker (good for poop) and not so liquidy! LOL- I guess with the next baby I'll be a Huggies girl! 🙂

  25. I loved Huggies newborn with the already cut out belly button area. Then I used pampers for size 1-4 and then converted to huggies with all of the coupons they offer. I like them just as much as the Baby Dry and they have better sales. Now that my son is potty trained during the day, I only use diapers at naptime and bed time, but it is huggies that I use!

  26. You guys are lucky you can buy whatever is on sale! My babies had delicate skin and if I switched brands, they got terrible rashes. So we always used Huggies – they were my preferred brand anyway but also the only ones that didn't irritate the baby's skin.

  27. I have always been a fan of Huggies over Pampers. When Lauren was a newborn Pampers gave her a horrible nasty rash and Huggies have never bothered her. So since then I have never bought a package of Pampers or used any free samples. I prefer to give those away!

  28. I used pampers exclusively until they started marketing the "baby dry." Suddenly my daughter and her crib were wet nearly every morning!! So we switched to Huggies (which, is also sold at costco, so we get them cheaper) and she has only had a few wet mornings.

  29. Each of my 3 boys are a little different although I've loved both brands at different stages. My 20month old weighs 29lbs. right now and just moved to a sz. 5. Neither style of Pampers worked (ill fitting and leaky) so we're using Huggies. I have to admit to being a true diaper snob in that I LOVE Huggies Supreme. They are just the perfit fit for him right now. We use the Overnites at night. Good luck and feel confident in using whatever works best- that always saves you money in the long run!

  30. I always liked Huggies better. I also like Huggies Nighttime Diapers (if they still make them!) My son had to have a nighttime diaper, my daughter never did.

  31. I LOVED pampers when my daughter was brand new, their newborn were THE BEST! BUT Costco only sells Huggies, so I started buying those once we got in to size 1-2 and I have loved them ever since. I even bought a box of Pampers on sale not too long ago and discovered I didn't like them nearly as much as Huggies.

I've tried Luvs and Targets brand and hated both of them. They were way too boxy for my petite LO.

  32. I have always preferred Huggies. I have three boys and Huggies were the only brand that didn't leak at night (I did have to buy them in a bigger size for night, so they are nice and tall, for some reason, my boys leaked out of the top of the diaper, even while "pointing" down!), Love Love Love Huggies!
