A Scrapbook for Colleen
One of my best friends, Colleen, is going to Africa on a mission trip for two weeks. Another friend, Andy, has traveled to Africa on a mission trip before. He told me that it is great to bring a small photo album of pictures from home – that the people in Africa LOVE to see the pictures of where you are from. So, I enlisted Colleen’s mom to help me round up some pictures, and I made Colleen a little Rusty Pickle album to take with her on her trip. What makes this album fun is that it comes premade with a lot of pockets, so I was able to put in a couple notes from me, a few notes from Colleen’s mom, pictures that were special from her Dad (who passed away about two years ago) as well as a few other things. The back of the accordian album is blank so Col can journal about her trip or add more photos.
The paper I used is mostly Basic Grey. I inked everything using Tim Holtz distressing ink. Other embellishments are a few metal letters, ribbon and brads. I modge-podged the book to protect it from lots of people handling it. The result turned out adorable!!
