Meet Our New World Vision Girl – Maya
I’m excited to introduce you to Maya of India, age 6.
Maya lives with her parents and 3 brothers. Her parents struggle to provide for the family. Her father is a laborer and her mother takes care of the household. Despite their efforts it is difficult to meet the family’s needs. Maya is growing up in a slum community in India. A typical home is constructed using wood, thatch and found materials. Rice is a staple of the local diet, and families may also eat vegetables, cereal and beans. Some communities are able to get meat, fish and prawns as well. Plains, hills and forests mark the land. Maya is in primary school and she enjoys grammar. She helps at home by running errands. She likes to play group games. She is in good health.
Our sponsorship commitment will help provide Maya and her community with access to clean water, immunizations, health care, assurance of a quality education and tutoring help for struggling students. In addition, our support provides literacy classes and vocational training for older children.
Please pray so these precious children like Maya and their families are able to experience the love of God and life in all its fullness.
