Our Cute Reading Nook

My Aunt Sandy and Uncle Jim gave us these amazingly comfortable chairs that they were getting rid of about a year ago. The chairs had faded from the sun coming in their living room. So I set out to make a slipcover for the one that had really faded. My friend Angie and I tried making it like eight months ago, but it ended up being way too big – so much for using a sewing for dummies pattern!! FINALLY we were able to get together and finish it. It turned out soooooo cute! We have oversized red couches in our living room, so the chair accents it perfectly.We now have the coziest little reading nook.



On the wall above the chair I have this old medicine cabinet that I converted to a little shelf. My dad cut out the center of the door – where a mirror used to be – and I love the result. Check it out.
