Work, Scrapbooking, Faith and My Beloved
It seems life lately is going to quickly… and that in the midst of it all I am somewhat overwhelmed. But, at the same time, I LOVE the craziness. God has blessed us with so many opportunities and experiences. I am grateful.
I think I have blogged about my client Strength for Service before. It is a daily devotional strictly written for those in the service of others – particularly those in the military. To date we have distributed 300,000 of these since 2002. The need is still great. Focus on the Family is going to be doing a feature radio story about the project this week on one of its programs! I am so excited because it will hopefully introduce the project to more people. We offer a “Strength for Service Sunday” program that churches can easily implement in their church. They simply take up a special offering to support the project and all the money goes back into printing and distributing more books. If you are interested, please click here.
Scrapbooking continues to be a big part of how I spend my free time. This weekend, I reorganized all my paper by manufacturer. I used to have it organized by color, but the more I have been scrapbooking, the more I found myself looking for a particular manufacturer’s paper. I use the big 12×12 hanging files by cropper hopper and I love them. I have two of these organizers (with the carts) and they are chock full. I have been trying diligently for the past six months to use up my stash and not buy new paper, but I have been buying some lately with all the new CHA stuff coming out! While organizing, I purged all the old paper that I have had for a few years and would probably never use. I donated it to Mercy Ministries, and they were so grateful.
Currently, I am reading, The Jesus I Never Knew for bible study and it is really challenging me to go deeper in my understanding of who Jesus was when we walked the earth, who he is now, etc. It is very “meaty” and I love it.
Please be praying for Matthew as he writes his memoir. The deadline is a quick turnaround and he has a lot on him. He is going to be traveling several weekends in October which also makes things a bit stressful.
xxx thinking of you & matthew.
I will have to check into that devotional… our umc has lots of military families…
