A Great Friday Night- Sort Of…
Matthew and I haven’t been on a date in FOREVER so we decided to plan a date night for Friday night.
Our night started out by going to Davis Kidd for Amy Grant’s book tour for her new book Mosaic. Matthew and Amy became friends when he was at CCM, so it was fun for us hear her read some excerpts and sing a few songs. Vince Gill (her husband) was also there and he played along with her. Only in Nashville to find Grammy winners playing guitar together in a book store. Love it.
Amy and Vince ended up being the best part of the night. We then had dinner at Bronte, the Davis Kidd restaurant. Last time we had dinner there we loved it, but this time, not so much. Bummer… especially since we rarely go out to eat.
After dinner we went to see Rendition, the new movie with Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhall, Meryl Streep, etc. While the movie was good, it was difficult to follow in spots and a little long. It would make a good Netflix, but I wouldn’t reccomend going and seeing it in the theatre. Entertainment Weekly gave it a C+ and I would say that is totally accurate… wish we would have seen the review BEFORE I bought the tickets! This was also a bummer for the evening…
So, while some of the elements that made up the evening weren’t great, being with Matthew WAS GREAT. I am grateful for the time we got to spend together. He is such a sweetheart. Love you, Baby.
