It’s Done
Well, we got the tree up, lit and trimmed with ribbon on Sunday. I did the beads Monday morning and put up the ornaments this morning. It is finally done. I love it – as always. Here’s a snapshot.
Every year, my favorite ornament remains this little rattle with a baby on the inside. It says baby’s first Christmas and it was the first ornament I ever received. This picture is a bit out of focus, but you get the idea. 🙂 
It was always tradition in our house that every year St. Nick brought my sister and I an ornament. Matthew and I have continued the tradition. This year I got him a starbucks ornament and he got my a darling little Hummel girl. It is so fun to open up my ornaments every year and remember a lot of great memories growing up.
This weekend I am going visit my friend Rachel in Chicago. She just got engaged – congrats Rachel! – and she has asked me to be in the wedding. I’m so excited. I will be big as a house for her wedding (7 months pregnant). We have been friends since we were 11, so it really means a lot to be part of her big day in May. We are going to go dress shopping as well as do Michigan Avenue. I will also get to finally meet her fiance Dave! It will be a great weekend.
Have fun in Chicago! The weather is supposed to be crap this weekend, but at least the snow will make it especially Christmas-y. 🙂
Have fun on your trip this weekend! I used to live in NW IN and Chicago is my 2nd home away from home. Your tree looks great and… I have that ornament too! It’s totally my fav. My mom has been a huge Hallmark collector forever!

okay this is starting to get a little freaky…I think I have the same ribbon on my tree and as a tree topper, AND red beads! Mine are shiny are yours shiny!? LOL
Chicago sounded great…so fun, I love dress shopping, it seems all my friends are virtually done though 🙁
