Busy, Busy, Busy
Whew… every day this week has been long, but the weekend is in sight! February is extra busy because this is the month we put together our Parthenon Awards entries – the big PR/marketing awards in town. I have 11 entries and have so far logged abut 30 hours on them. I will probably have close to 40 when it is all said and done. I AM going out of town next week (more on that in a minute), which means I have to have everything done by Monday.
I have two photo shoots to direct next week – one in Austin, TX and one in Denver, CO. I have never been to either city, so I am looking forward to at least seeing a bit of both. Any recommendations or things I should know about either city?
I get back Friday night around 6:30 pm, and then I have to be at the airport at 5:45 am Saturday to go visit my friend Colleen. I get home early in the morning on Monday and then will go straight to work. I am going to be tired!
A week from Tuesday I start Young Leaders Council, which I am VERY excited about. Here’s a bit about it from the YLC website: The Mission of the Young Leaders Council is to train diverse, committed individuals to effectively participate on the boards of nonprofit organizations and make a difference in the community by replenishing the volunteer leadership base.
The YLC consists of a ten-session training program, addressing fundamental board skills, followed by a year-long internship on the board of a community nonprofit agency as a nonvoting member. There are two training sessions held each year in the Spring and the Fall with approximately 30-35 participants in each class from companies all over Middle Tennessee.
Then on Wednesday the 5th we are supposed to find out the sex of the baby. However, I might have to go on an overnight trip to For Lauderdale!! I am hoping it works out that I can still go to the appointment, or move it to Monday or Tuesday. I don’t think I can wait much longer! 🙂
Have a good day… I will check in again soon.
You will love Young Leaders Council….and I will look forward to seeing you at the YLC’s awesome annual holiday party!
If you’re going to be in Austin, check out ToyJoy. It’s a totally ridiculous toy shop…and it bombards your senses with lights and sounds and things hanging from the walls. It’s a blast.
