  1. 🙂 Glad to see you will be getting the interview. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I LUV SW too. The only thing we fly, well, except that trip to Germany, lol…had to fly something else.

I love that they are ALWAYS happy, I really have NEVER met a SW employee who was unhappy.

I like the Ding feature as well. Great marketing…I go check as well the second I hear the ding and for some reason I try figuring out why I need to go to Kansas seeing that I know NO ONE THERE, but it’s $39 how can I pass that up????

Hmmm, I love the peanuts as well, and the little snack packs on longer flights, I had always wanted to try those oreo bite things…yummm.

I like how they “decorate” the outside of the planes….so cute, and again, GREAT marketing.

I like the rhyming songs as well…cute stuff.

I’m sad if we have to fly something other than SW, and when we DO fly something other than SW, we always say, “Ummm, they totally wouldn’t do that if we were on SW, or, MAN, that’s why we love SW….

Good luck with this Jessica. You will do a GREAT job if they select you. 🙂

  2. Have never flown Southwest, when I worked in marketing I had a client who drove from Green Bay to Milwaukee or Chicago to fly SW.

    You’ll do awesome!!

  3. OH MY GOODNESS. I LOVE Southwest Airlines. You would be such a great match for them.

I once paid a flight attendant a compliment and the next time she walked by me, she dropped a whole bag of peanuts (like dozens of little packages) in my lap. Didn’t say anything, just dropped the nuts! What a crack up. I LOVE that SWA doesn’t take their job so seriously — they can laugh and have fun and still be professional.

    So happy for you.
And even better — YOU HAVE an adorable baby!!

    WOW.
Loved catching up on your family.

  4. I appreciate that Southwest tries to be very accomodating to all of their consumers:
I once flew on a SW flight and a passenger scheduled for a later flight had a family emergency and needed to get back home as early as possible. SW couldn’t do anything, the flight was booked-solid, but they allowed him to speak to the passengers standing in line to see if anyone would be willing to give up their seat. Within two minutes, a few passengers agreed to take the later flight and the “switch” was made quickly and respectfully. It definitely says something about the passengers of Southwest, too!! 🙂

I’ve also been very impressed with the gate attendants for Southwest. I flew Southwest just this past Monday and I love that they take the time to say “Hello, Ms. ____, Good evening, Mr._____” which they know (the name) from the boarding pass that they scan. That stands out-that connection makes a difference and it makes you feel just a little bit more comfortable as you walk the landing to board the plane.

Good luck! I hope Southwest shows you some LUV! 🙂

  5. I fly southwest as often as possible and LUV them myself. I love their simple rewards program, on-line check-in procedure (I LUV anything that rewards a punctual type A like myself). Traveling with kiddos on southwest is also super easy… not only is it easy to all sit together, but if the flight isn’t booked, they totally accomodate car seats without rearranging your seat assignments 100 times. They damaged my bag once and paid gave me a quick $100 voucher in spite of me insisting to the lady that I bought the bag for less than that:) And like one of your commenters, I have been tossed an entire bundle of pretzels. Oh, and my nephews can’t wait to hear the crazy stories about my singing, rhyming, joke telling flights:)

  6. I love the fact that they are the only airline that flies direct from Phoenix (where I live) to Nashville (where my parents are!) I also appreciate the fact that they don’t charge extra for the second bag you check–when we travel with four kids those car seats end up taking most of our allotment!

    Good luck!

  7. They did have a show on A&E that followed the southwest workers along through their day. It really showed how much fun they do have at work and what kind of craziness they had to put up with.

  8. I love the jokes that the flight attendants make, like: “Be careful when opening overhead bins, because SHIFT happens.”

  9. I love that they don’t charge for carry-ons. It’s the most frustrating thing trying to plan a trip and have to account for an extra 25-50+ dollars to utilize facilities on airplanes that were MADE to accommodate carry-ons.

  10. I LUV the daily non-stop flights from Nashville to KC that are so inexpensive and FAST! One and a half hour flight beats a nine hour drive ANY day! I always have the comfort of knowing Southwest can get me to family anytime of any given day if needed.

Congrats on the interview.. you’ll be FABULOUS and will be a great addition to their team 🙂

  11. Yay, you got the interview!

I think SW has a spirit of generosity that hardly ANY businesses have in today’s economy (especially airlines). On a recent SW flight to Portland, the flight attendant was walking around with boxes of snacks, saying, “Take LOTS. No, really, do you want more? Don’t be shy!”

Generosity and kindness go a long way in building a loyal customer following, that’s for sure!

  12. So, I don’t fly often because of rates, the hassle, etc. BUT since reading all of your yummy information on SW – I may be considering booking that cruise and flying SW to the port for our 1 year anniversary afterall!
