"The Best" Day 4 – Creating Keepsakes Sweet Baby KOTM
While, I love everything I have featured this week, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be today’s kit. In September Creating Keepsakes introduced the Becky Higgins Sweet Baby Kit of the Month. This kit is chock full of SO much product- more than $200 worth, and it retails for only $44.95. A STEAL!
Check it out:
- 20 sheets of double-sided, coordinating cardstock
- 3×12 journaling cards for monthly notes about baby and cardstock library pockets
- Matching cardstock alphabet, border and tab stickers
- A large set of alphabet rub-ons
- Sweet baby and animal epoxy stickers
- Full 12×12 sheet protectors and fun, divided sizes including 4×6, 4×3 and 3×3 to create innovative layouts and pages
- Darling chipboard frames and accents
- Three yards of ribbon
- 12×12 acetate keepsake envelopes
- 32 4×6 journaling cards and transparencies for custom sheet protectors
- 14 3×4 “time capsule” and journaling cards for custom sheet protectors
- 12 3×3 journaling and decorative cards for custom divided sheet protectors
- 96 coordinating photo corners
- One double-sided “growing big”/”remember this” rubber stamp
I thought I would do a video today to show you what I have done so far with what I consider to be the first half of the kit – preparing for baby, family record, birth, first days. Special thanks to my sweet hubby Matthew who got it uploaded for me while I went to work! Sorry the color/light is a little funky.
A couple things I didn’t address in the video:
The album
The kit comes with all the page protectors you will need, just not an album to put them in. I highly recommend using a D-Ring album or albums for this kit. (I recommend two albums because there is so much stuff!) My normal, every-day albums that I use for all my layouts are the American Crafts D-Ring albums. However, for this line, I used the Hobby Lobby branded D-Ring albums because they were a little cheaper and didn’t come with pages (since you don’t need pages anyway!) I am really happy with them.
Adhesive
I used my Xyron 510 for all the chipboard and my favorite U-hu purple gluestick for everything else. If you don’t have a Xyron machine, you should check them out. Nothing works like them on chipboard and ribbon. So quick, easy and effective. You can buy them at JoAnns and Michaels with a 40% or 50% off coupon too, making it pretty cheap.
Boy or Girl
Both! Everything in the kit is double-sided boy colors/girl colors so the kit will work for either gender.

i love what you did with the kit!! i got 2…hoping i can scrounge a 3rd that’s similar out of it with the leftovers, so all of my kiddos will have similar 1st years books…otherwise my oldest will get ripped-however he will have the MOST studio taken pics and the most complete store bought baby’s first 5 years book, so maybe that will make up for it. haha;0)

How on earth do you find the time to get so much done already?! Do you print your photos at home? Don’t you have way too many? When it comes to the kids, I just feel like I can’t not use all of them! Every picture is different in it’s own way. They change so much day to day.

Love the whole kit – what a great idea – the KOTM kit is beautiful.
I would love this kit not for me but for my sister-n-law. I pre-ordered by kit and am waiting for my kit to come. My sister-n-law and brother have been doing IVF for 10 years and their baby is due in February. With the Australian dollar the way it is now, it is to expensive for me to purhcase a kit for them as well. I thought this would be the perfect way to document their babies first year.
