  1. I am a total Pampers snob! I have tried some no name brands before but I just don’t like them as much as Pampers. Pampers work for my baby girl so I am just sticking with them! 🙂

    BTW, Elias is a cutie!!

  2. I am in love with Pampers Cruisers…they are the best! But to be a little more money savvy, I tried Luvs for my little girl when she was around Elias’ age. She is now 18 months old and I am still using them. They work well for her, but they did not work well for my son when he was her age. It’s all about the “user”. LOL!
    Have a great day! 🙂

  3. We are a pampers snob too. We’ve tried Target brand and White Cloud (Walmart’s generic) before and haven’t been too pleased with either but we will use them during the day and then use pampers for nap times and bed times as they are just more adsorbent. Our girls both have sensitive skin so sometimes we have to switch back and forth more often but we still use generic some. Every little bit to save does help if you can find a generic that works well.

  4. You will be highly disappointed, I am afraid. I have a 2 month old little boy (after having 2 girls), and have tried switching already, but realized that nothing is better than Pampers. Just wait until you get to the Cruisers. They are the BEST!!!

  5. Yes I also love them. My little guy uses Pampers and Huggies, there both good to me and him. Thank you for that Publix Baby Registry, we shop at Publix all the time but never heard of this! Thanks! He is such a cute Hunk!:)

  6. I too am a Pampers snob!! I tried them all with my son and the only one’s I like better than the baby dry were the Cruisers!!! The cruisers end up about the same price as the baby dry’s as they seem to fit longer (and therefore you get more in the box for the same price for a bit longer), so I’ve upgraded with my daughter to the Cruisers…I’m not a fan of the generics…despite the HUGE price difference….I figure I save on laundry soap and water (less leaks) with the expensive diapers….and try to use coupons.

  7. I love Pampers too! We used them for both of our kids. We do buy Target diapers every now and then because I usually buy diapers at Target & if they are out of her size (which seems to happen more and more these days) I grab a Target pack to hold us over. They just changed the Target tabs so they are more stretchy. They have not leaked…yet. I did try a couple of other generics that I cannot even recall at this point…Walgreen's maybe??? They obviously were not very memorable!

  8. I was a Pampers snob when Morgan was in the Swaddlers. As we moved out of the Swaddlers I decided to try a few different ones, to see if I could save some $$ since they use a ton of them at daycare. I tried Sam’s brand first and the daycare lady said no thanks! Next I tried Luvs. They are a great price and have lots of coupons. We really liked them so thats what she is wearing when she is at home.

Over Christmas we were low on $$ so I decided to get a package of Target brand for daycare and see what they said. They never said a word so she is wearing those at daycare. I figure even if they leak, its okay because they change her all the time anyway.

  9. After reading the other comments I’m a little embarrassed to say I’ve never used Pampers! We use Parent’s Choice (another Walmart brand). They work great for our toddler (age 2 – size 3 diapers). They aren’t rough like a lot of the other generics, and they bend and flex with our little girl. And they’re VERY cheap!

  10. Do you have a Sam’s Club nearby? I was pleasantly surprised by the “Member’s Mark” brand diapers (Sam’s Club brand). Once I tried them, I stuck with them and never went back. Prior to that, I had used Pampers.

  11. When my babies were babies, I was a Pampers snob, too…except when Huggies had a coupon in the paper. But Pampers was always my first choice. Tried Luvs once, too, but they smelled so bad when wet! I can sympathize. Pampers are just too good to go to anything else.

  12. I actually did a diapers trial in an effort to find cheaper diapers despite my love for Pampers! Here is a condensed version of the results:

Target green label – Like cardboard, very unflexible, resulted in some diaper rash, leaked overnight and even during the day

Berkley & Jensen (BJ's) – Okay. Some leaks enough that I wanted to try others. Soft and flexible enough, some diaper rash and leaked a few times overnight

Walmart White Cloud Supreme (their generic supreme brand) – Soft and reasonably flexible, Probably one of my favorites even though there were some leaks through the night sometimes, minimal diaper rash

No name/off brand diapers found at Dollar General in Pittsburgh (orange and yellow label) – best of the whole bunch! Softest, most flexible, little to no diaper rash, don't remember if there were ever any leaks.

And I've even tried out wipes! Parent's choice (Walmart) – okay except the packaging for refilling the plastic brand name ones is TERRIBLE and I wouldn't get them again strictly on that!

Huggies – thick but tore several times when trying to get them out of the dispenser.

Pampers – Just fine, as you probably would guess. Not as think as others.

Target green label brand Unscented/Sensitive – Just as thick as Huggies, doesn't rip when you take them from the dispenser, packaging for refillable container is just like Pampers!!! *MY FAVORITE*

  13. oh i remember being a snob about diapers but I can’t remember which kind LOL mine are 7 and 10 it’s been awhile since the diaper dooootie 🙂

  14. Don’t use Wal-mart brand they leak. I have had success with Babies R us brand during the day and always use Luv’s at night. When I used Babies R us at night we had leaks. Not good at 3:00 in the morning. Babies R us has sales where you can by two boxes for $35.

  15. I liked Pampers until my daughter got into the larger sizes. I still used Huggies, Pampers or Luvs at night to prevent the leaks that sometimes would occur with the store brand ones when they were used overnight. I bought Huggies because they sent me coupons in the mail and even then it was ometimes hard to justify paying the extra cost just beacuse I liked the name brand. I’m pregnant again and plan to cloth diaper.

  16. I’m a Huggies gal myself. I tried Pampers when my son was a newborn, and didn’t like them. He’s had Huggies ever since then. He’s now out of diapers and into pull-ups. We started potty training early since my 23-month old is too big for the size 6 diapers. I’ve been trying out different generic training pants.

  17. My baby is only twenty days old, so the expense has definitely not sunk in, but right now I’m addicted to newborn Pampers Sensitive, because of the wetness indicator line. Maybe once I’ve been a parent longer I’ll be able to tell without the line and will branch out to save some money!

  18. yes I’m a pampers snob. But from time to time I branch out and buy generic or huggies. And I ALWAYS go back to Pampers.
My husband figured up the cost on both and they end up being the same because you have to change the generic diaper more often. So when we have an off week on cash I buy the generic and use both brands until I can buy pampers. It seems to be working for now.
LUVS made my son’s skin break out.
We use Walmart or Target. Publix are not my favorite. But love the coupons! They have a great preschool website too when Elias gets older.

  19. I LOVED Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers! They were amazing. We tried many other brands but ALWAYS came back to Pampers. Others seemed stiffer, not as soft, more diaper rash and we often had problem with leaks…in the long run, I just decided the savings wasn’t worth it!

  20. I used Pampers with #1, cloth with #2 (and #3 until she had problems with it) and then with #3 we have worn Walmart’s store brand and LOVED them.

  21. We got a package of the Publix brand as a gift in size 1 and used them–like you said, they are tolerable but not soft. I’ve used Huggies a lot just b/c of coupons and deals, but she has a ton of blowouts in them. I prefer Pampers. But now we are going to (BumGenius) cloth diapers. They will do them at daycare and are so soft and cute.

  22. I agree with Rebecca…it is all about the user! One of my girls did better with Pampers, the other with Huggies – and this was back in the day when they had the different diapers for the sexes so it has been awhile!!!

With the baby I keep now, I think Huggies work best. Thanks to some commenters, though, I think I am going to have to try out the Target wipes…Thank you!!!

  23. I was only into brand name diapers when our son was a new born – we used the Huggies new borns because generics didn’t fit. I never did like Pampers (sorry!) 😉

Now we only use Target brand diapers because the stretchy tabs are awesome! I don’t use Wal Mart brand anymore. They are only like $14.00 for a case of diapers and those last us a good long while.

For night time, we have to use Huggies Overnight diapers. Our son has a leakage issue with diapers at night and these hold in everything. We have only had one leaky Overnight diaper since starting the Huggies and that’s because it’s wasn’t put on correctly.

Let us know how it goes!

  24. As Elias get bigger your diaper needs will change…The Target diapers work very well, and Target gets alot of their generics from the same brand name companies that make the diapers “YOU LOVE”

  25. I used to be a Pampers snob, but when my second baby came and was buying diapers for 2 I changed to the Target brand which were just as good.

  26. you need to be a spokesperson for Pampers and then they would send you free coupons! :o) I LOVE Luvs… they are cheaper and they are a lot like Pampers. I also have used Target and Reasors. (do you have Reasors Grocery there?) good luck!

  27. I am amazed that KristiG said that her 2 year old is in 3’s! My 15 month old wears 4’s in the day and wears 5’s at night for extra leak protection. 🙂

I, too, am a Pampers snob. I tried Huggies and they just didn’t seem to fit my baby’s body correctly. I tried Luvs when she was a newborn and thought them not even remotely as soft and flexible as Pampers Swaddlers.

When we graduated from Swaddlers, we tried Cruisers, but seemed to start getting leaks more often-they didn’t seem to fit right. So I tried the Pampers Baby Dry (which are the same price as Cruisers, but you get 10-15 more diapers!) and they worked SO much better. We havent gone back!

As for wipes, Huggies, Pampers, Target, and White Cloud all seem to work great. I really didnt like the WalMart brand (Equate, I think?) because they werent interlocking and wouldnt feed themselves through the dispenser. The quality of the wipe was okay though. We just ended up using those for the diaper bag.

  28. I love Pampers…. but as my son gets older (2) and we have another on the way I decided I best wise up and look around.
I am a HUGE supporter of the White Cloud Supreme from Wal Mart. They are excellent and have stretch sides! I tried the Parents Choice, but I was not happy with them at all.
Luvs are pretty good too, but once I found White Cloud I can’t find anthing that compares for the money! Ellis is in a size 5 and we get a case of 88 for about $15!

  29. Yes, I’d have to say that after 3 boys, Pampers are my favorite. Can’t beat their stretchy tabs. I like the Huggies supreme when they are sz. 4 or above. My kids tend to have big bellies until then, but they fit the older shape quite well. As for generics, I really like CVS brand’s supreme diapers (purple bag). They are very similiar to Pampers, even a bit thicker I think. Just try them all and always use a coupon. The baby diaper stage will be over sooner then you think so go with what works best for you.

  30. I am a Pamper’s snob as well and am not ashamed to admit it! Swaddlers were so “pretty” being solid white and soooo soft…I was really sad when we had to go to the Cruisers because I’m not a huge fan of characters on diapers (they show through light colored clothing!) When Lauren was born, we found the Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive with the wetness indicators and LOVED them because then I could see if she was wet just by looking at the front.
I have tried Huggies wipes, and although they are thicker, they tear easily to me. We use Pampers Sensitive wipes and LOVE them…although too many come out when you pull the top one sometimes!
I was always told that Luvs were good diapers, especially for breastfed babies because they don’t leak …but we were too “snobby” about our Pampers to try them!! 🙂

  31. I am a pampers snob when the babies are little – swaddlers are the ONLY way to go! BUT, once they get to about size 2, the Target brand is awesome and CHEAP! They worked really well for us. Sams Club also has a generic brand that isn’t too bad – but stay away from walmart’s generics, they will leak 9 out of 10 times.

Every kid is different tho so a diaper that works for you might not work at all for someone else.

  32. I was a huge Pampers fan until I tried the Costco store brand ones..Kirkland. I also LOVE their wipes. The money we save well pays for our membership.

  33. I have heard that Walgreens diapers are good though I haven’t priced them or used them myself. Let us know what your experiment yields. I haven’t been brave enough to risk the mess that comes with diaper trials. Good Luck!

  34. I am a Pampers snob. I didn’t like them them with my first child, I can’t remember with my second but once they put those Pampers swaddlers on my third in the hospital I was sold. I LOVE Pampers. I too have been trying to go the generic route lately (trying to save a little) and I am thinking that it just isn’t worth it. We end up with more leaks and have to wash more clothes so the money I save in diapers I am probably using in the laundry. Who knows. Maybe I am just trying to justify me wanting name brand diapers. 🙂 I have tried the Target brand the Walmart White Cloud brand and some way generic brand called Fitti from our local grocery store. I do not like any of them! I guess if I had to wear a diaper all day long I would want something comfortable and absorbant. So should I make my son wear something uncomfortable? And then part of me says, “you know what who cares!” So I don’t know. I am so torn.

  35. Pampers snob here too! I now buy off of diapers.com. Their Pampers Swaddlers were an additional $3+ off last week (may still be too). I’ve tried others, but didn’t like them. One brand (can’t rememmber which one) was a guarantee leak, I’d gp through at least 4 or 6 outfits a day with them.

  36. I only used Pampers with my 2 starting out. Then as they got into a 2 usually tried other brands. We use the White Cloud brand from Walmart. Those are what we tend to stick with until they are done with diapers. Good luck!

  37. I, too, am a Pampers snob. My Saralynn has worn maybe 5 other brands of diapers in her 2 1/2 years, and we’ve not had any success with any others. She’s come home in the “knock-off” brands from day care, which means someone else went home in her Pampers, which I wasn’t too excited about. But, even in the “knock-off”, we had accidents and leaks. One thing I will say- Saralynn’s skin must be used to the Pampers, because when we began the adventure of Potty-Training, she had a horrible rash as a result of the Huggies Pull-Ups. I bought the Pampers Easy-Ups, and guess what? NO ISSUES. We love them. Day care requires the Huggies, but they may have to bend a little- the blistered bottom won’t cut it here. All in all, though they are more expensive, my theory is you get what you pay for. Thank goodness for Pampers.

  38. I’ve heard good things about Target’s diapers! I’ve never tried them. We use Huggies at night and Pampers during the day. I am sure when I have another baby we might consider cheaper brands.

  39. I’m glad to hear you’re considering generics to cut costs! Pampers and name brand wipes are great if you can afford them but, like you said, Matthew’s speaking engagements aren’t what you’d hoped and money is tight for everyone. We use Target diapers during the day and Huggies at night.

  40. Huggies all the way… unless Pampers are on sale and I have a coupon! I have tried the off brands and I was changing diapers all day long! I hate to look at a diaper sag! :)Just my 2cents!

  41. I don’t know if you have a BJs near you but I love their diapers. I buy their wipes too. Much cheaper and good quality.

  42. Try the Target brand. I used Pampers for my two daughters, but this time around I decided to give the Target brand a try for my son…and I LOVE them. I can’t tell a difference. They are so much cheaper. And because of the financial pinch that so many of us are feeling, it’s an easy way to save a bunch of money.

I also use the Target brand formula instead of the Enfamil Lipil. It’s about $15 cheaper a can. So it’s a savings of over $60 a month for our house. Every penny counts.

    Hope this helps!

  43. I was a Pampers snob when my son was young too. They just do the job so well and are so soft. Expensive though. I always used a coupon.
Now that my son is 19 months and potty training, I am able to buy generic brand because I don’t let him get so wet/durty. It sure is nice. I will probably keep my future kids in Pampers until they start potty training.
Huggies stink! I have never liked the fact that they get so bulky when the kids pee! I have never been a Huggies fan.
    -Amy

  44. I totally love pampers too, but I could not continue to afford them. So, I tried a few different ones and I found that Huggies worked fine, with no leaks. Even after a week on antibiotics, no leaks. We buy ours at Costco and get 224 size 3s for $38. It comes to about 16 cents a diaper. Not too bad. I have friends that use generics, but with Cristian’s sensitive skin I have to be pretty careful, and most of the generics I found are pretty scratchy. Hope that helps!

  45. Diapers.com takes up to 20% off select diapers as part of its latest sale. Plus, for new customers, take $10 off orders of $49 or more via coupon code “TENDEAL”.

thought this might help! i have no insight as we haven’t been blessed with children yet.

i will be referring back when we do! 🙂

  46. Pampers are the only way to go.
We tried the Playschool Plushies/Rompers since I absolutely love the Playschool Cottony Cloth wipes. Yeah no go. They run about 2 sizes smaller then they say. Is it bad that I don’t even want to give them away because they were so horrible.

We save on diapers by buying at BJs. Usually they have a BJs coupon for $5 off a box and then you can use that in addition to a Pampers coupon for some additional savings.

  47. When I had my daughter 5 months ago I started off with Pampers swaddlers because I had heard they were the best. I loved them as far as texture and appearance. The only problem was every time she pooped it would leak, and I mean every time! Come to find out pampers are a little lower cut than most diapers so I went on to try Huggies. Huggies ended up being too big in the legs for her. Then I tried Pampers baby dry, and she still leaked out of them. I was sooo frustrated and even googled to try to get some help. Apparently babies that are breast fed just have a lot more runny poo than formula fed babies. I finally tried Luv’s after them being highly recommended to me, and I LOVE them! Love the Luvs!! 🙂

p.s. be sure to give us an update on which carseat you choose. I’m early shopping as well.

  48. If you like pampers you will love…Walmart White Cloud Supreme. I have a Down syndrome boy that is 3, still in diapers, and they work night and day with no outside wetness!

just make sure they are the Supreme
kind..the regular White Clouds are not worth it. I get a box of 80 siz 5 for 15.97;0

hope this helps…..tell us how it all turns out for ya.

  49. Hello, I read Angie’s blog and clicked your link today!

I am a pampers snob too. BUT, I can say that I try other brands. I find that the Kroger’s premium diapers (gotta have the stretch tabs) work pretty well for my little guy. ONLY during the Daytime though… We MUST use pampers at night. And at that, we have to use Cruisers usually. They seem more absorbent. My favorite daytime brand is Luvs though.

Nothing but huggies wipes.!. Pampers are wayyy too soapy, and thin, and my experience with off brand is that when you clean up BF poop, it goes through the wipe onto your hands.. bleckkk…

    =)

  50. I am 1 million % a pampers snob. My daughter is 2 months old, so we have not had much time to try out different brands, but I have tried huggies and 1 store brand (not sure which store though- they were a diaper cake I got at one of my showers). The huggies size 1 leaked horribly and they were not very soft at all. The store brand leaked a little, but not like the huggies. Right now we are using the pampers swaddlers size 1 and love them. I love how soft they are, that they smell like baby powder, and how great they are against leaks. I have a huge box from Sam’s Club of the pampers swaddlers size 1-2, I think they are a transitional size, that I look forward to being able to use soon!
Your not alone… add me to you snob club! 🙂
    Elizabeth
P.S. Would you be willing to send me an email letting me know how you managed pumping and BF once you returned to work? I have just started my 2nd week back and so far things are going good- but I would appreciate any extra advice you have. My email is ev102007 at gmail. Thanks!

  51. I’m a total Pampers snob. I’ve tried a few generic brands but my son has to wear the Baby Dry diapers to sleep, otherwise he ends up peeing through his diaper and clothes and having to be completely changed at 2 or 3 in the morning. The extra money is worth the uninterrupted sleep!

  52. We didn’t start out as such, but I would have to admit we might be Pampers snobs now. EVERY other brand we tried gave my oldest rashes, and my second one has sensitive skin too so we didn’t even try with him. With two in diapers, I have thought more about trying some of the neat cloth systems more often than I have considered a different brand of disposables. The only thing that keeps me from making the big switch is that I just haven’t found time to research and figure out what to buy.
    –Elizabeth

  53. I am a total pamper snob. Just recently while at the store, I noticed Huggies were $21.00 for a box of 72, pampers $24 for a box of 50. I grabbed the huggies, at first we thought they were ok, we were excited because they sell them at costoc but after a week, many leaks, red marks on our son we decided to go back to pampers cruisers. My husband didnt like that with the huggies he couldnt feel if my son was wet on not. I dont buy generic toliet paper so I feel like spending money on the diapers that work are money well spent

  54. I am also a pampers snob…but more so swaddlers. I am not a huge fan of the cruisers although they have changed their style recently and I like them more so now. I have tried lots of generics and the only ones that I would ever buy again would be Costco. Don’t even waste your money on Sam’s diapers. I almost took them back they were so bad. I was so ready to get rid of them. When it comes down to it though I still by pampers. I usually buy them from Babies R Us when they have coupons and they will also take an actual Pampers coupon on top of their $5 coupon and so I will always buy the biggest box they have and it doesn’t come out to a bad deal and they last me forever. Hope this helps…

  55. Also as far as wipes go…Love Target, Sams and Costco wipes. Can not stand huggies way too thick and tear so easily.

  56. LOVE Pampers Cruisers and Swaddlers – NEVER Baby Dry. #2 is due in June so we’ll have 2 in diapers for a while (they’ll be 20m apart). We’ll see what we think in a few more months.

  57. I use Luvs and because they are made by the same company as Pampers….you can use your Pampers coupons when you buy Luvs!! A little savings, but every bit helps!

  58. i have to admit… i love pampers mainly because of the smell (the swaddlers are my absolute fav). but i use luvs. they’re dependable and easier on our budget. they don’t give many coupons, but still end up being cheaper than if i bought the namebrands with coupons.

  59. Jessica, with our baby #1 – I was a Huggies snob hands down. Well, bab #2 rolls in the world and I decided to use White Cloud and Target brand diapers, and they worked fine. Now, poor baby #3 gets whatever momma finds on sale!! But, usually with CVS he wears Huggies or Pampers a lot.

I have tried the Walgreens brand and they are fine for day-time – never do those at night because they will leak right through. I still think Target and White Cloud are great for day and night. And, these Kroger diapers will be an experiment for me too but I’ll say they’re probably fine for day-time too. I’m glad to hear your comparison though since I haven’t opened my packages yet.

Since you really like Pampers, hopefully you are signed up with the Pampers Gift to Grow Program. That does offset some of the cost since you get rewards/coupons and stuff.

  60. I use cloth diapers (BumGenius are amazing) and I love them. We do, however, use disposables when we are out and about and I use Luvs. They are quite a bit less than Pampers and Huggies, but work just as well. I’ve tried a couple of generic brands and HATED those. Luvs doesn’t often have coupons, but they are cheaper to buy regular price than buying Pampers or Huggies on sale and with a coupon. If you’re not opposed to trying them, cloth really are easy and a huge cost savings.

  61. I love Pampers. I’ve tried generic, huggies etc but either they smelled, or their skin got a big rash or the leaked.

I don’t ever buy Pampers at full cost, so I figure when they are on sale and then I use a coupon, that the price is actually not so bad!

  62. I wouldn’t know as I am not a parent but my older sister loved Pampers for my niece but also uses Huggies now because they fit better xxx.

  63. We used Pampers and Huggies when my daughter was born but then I wanted to try to save money so we tried cheaper brands. The Walmart store brand was horrible and so was the Target brand diapers. We finally found Luvs and have been using those for the last year. They don’t leak and are great! Seems like they are a little larger than the same size Pampers or Huggies too so you might save some money there.

  64. I was a total Pampers snob! But…they leaked, and I was a new mom and thought if the best leaked then they must all leak. I hated Huggies! When my little girl was 15 months old I finally tried Luvs (I had a coupon) and love them! They have never leaked and they are way cheaper. I’ve also used the Walgreens brand. When they have sales and coupons you can get them for like $1.50 for a 30-40 pack. The aren’t my very favorite, but they are totally worth that price! Baby number two will be more flexible 🙂

  65. As a mom of triplets (who are now 5) I went through quite a bit of diapers before settling on those I liked. In the end I became a fan of Luvs and also the Toys R Us brand. The cheapie brands (store brands like WalMart, etc.) didn’t work for me.

  66. I am a Pampers Snob too! I LOVED the Sensetive diapers with the strip to tell you when they are wet – when we were still in the newborn size my husband bought regular Swaddlers and it didn’t have the line – we both freaked out and went back to the store and bought the ones with the line. I used the others for a diaper cake 🙂

We recently outgrew Swaddlers and now I am super sad. So far the Cruisers are eh for me – but mostly because I don’t think my son fits in them JUST yet. He’s right at 16lbs so they seem to be a bit loose on his legs. But then the Size 2 are super tight… ah inbetween sizes the plight of our lives from day one.

We have tried other diapers: Huggies turned his bum instantly red… and a generic brand called “Moms 2 Moms” they sucked! super papery – also resulted in a red bum… so while I am also a Pampers snob, my son’s bum seems to be also!

  67. Never commented on your blog before…but diapers…oh those diapers…they will bring a gal outta blurking really fast!

I’m TOTALLY a Pampers snob…tried the generics…tried Huggies…tried Luvs…I will sell a kidney or stop eating or something before I quit buying them. : )

Think about it this way…if they don’t absorb as well, you’re going to be using more diapers anyway…so spend more and use the ones that absorb…and that you don’t have to change as often.

  68. I confess, I too am a pampers snob! I do keep the coupons for pampers and huggies and buy huggies when i have a coupon. I will usually send those to “school” with him and then use the pampers here at home. We used the costo (kirkland) brand when he was a few months old because someone gave us a box and we quite pleased. we hated the luvs and rejoiced the day we used the last of a package someone had given us.

  69. Reading the comments are so funny! I was the complete opposite. My best friend & I were Huggies snobs! We hated Pampers! LOL And honestly I never even bought a store brand to try. My girls are now 9 & 6 so it has been awhile. Maybe pampers are better now. LOL
    Christy in OH

  70. I am a former Pampers snob. However, my family is living on one income, (I’m a SAHM) and they are too expensive. I have tried a lot of different brands for my 6 month old daughter. I LOVE Luvs. Love, love, love. I buy the big boxes of 116 diapers and with Target’s price they work out to about $.13 a piece. I also am ok with Target brand and parent’s choice (walmart brand), but just for playtime- not overnight. Stay clear away from Babies R Us store brand, Winn Dixie’s storebrand, and Sam’s Club storebrand. I didn’t like Huggies, either. Luvs is soft, has a faint scent and very durable.

I still buy Pampers every chance I get… I just use them like every other diaper change to make them last longer!

  71. My kids are too old for diapers now but I ONLY used Pampers…from the Newborn Swaddlers to the Cruisers to the pullup kinds…it helped that my sister worked for P&G and I got freebies every now and then!

  72. I was a pampers snob too, I LOVED the swaddlers!! But when my little man hit size 3 and we had to go to the next type of pampers, i hated them. they were too narrow and not as absorbant so we tried Huggies Natural Care as they are the only ones I will use now! 🙂 I also tried Randall’s brand, they were terrible!

  73. I am so a Pampers snob as well (it’s totally the sweet smell they have)! But after having our second and then third (2 currently in diapers now), we had to switch. So we now use Cosco brand. They rarely leak, but we still have the occasional blowout with our baby-but even so in the Pampers. I just don’t think they are as soft. Don’t like Target’s brand. Put our 2 year old in them and the tabs kept unsticking. Not good for a on-the-move toddler!

  74. Yes! I am a total Pampers snob also. I’m on baby #4 and I know from past experience not to even try and other kind. All my other babies ended up with some sort of skin rash from generic brands. And I just do not like Huggies (sorry). So we’ll just stick with our pampers and collect our Pampers points.
You go girl, you are the deal queen!! I’m impressed!!

PS. Elias is a sweetie pie!! 🙂

  75. I always used Pampers when my girls were babies. They never leaked, irritated their skin, ripped, sagged, etc…and I loved the scent and cute graphics as well. On "lean" paychecks I tried other brands of diapers like Huggies (which are no cheaper usually), our local grocery store brand, Costco brand, Luvs, Walmart brand and I was always disappointed. Leaks, gaps, tab tearing, stiffness, bunching of the material inside, etc. I guess Pampers is a "you get what you pay for" thing. Use those coupons as often as you can get them. The amount of diapers you will throw out because of tab tearing & problems (like less absorbancy) will likely equal the cost of the Pampers anyway. Good luck!

  76. We started out with Pampers when they were in size 1s. Then we used Sam’s Club diapers for a while…but then moved to Huggies because we liked them when they were bigger. It’s funny how we get set in a certain way! 🙂

  77. We are Huggies snobs. 😉

Have you looked on Diapers.com to check the cost per diaper? We use them all the time- free shipping!

  78. When I was pregnant with my first I asked my older sisters and SIL’s for advice- they all used different brands. One with kids that had skin issues used Huggies (girls), One without budget issues Pampers (girls) and the thrifty one used Luvs (4 boys). I wasn’t sure which ones to use. I heard from other people that Pampers were the way to go. So during the pregnancy whenever I found a Pampers coupon I bought a pack. I liked the softness of the Pampers and liked that they were the easiest to know when it was time to change the diaper. I would agree, if money wasn’t an issue, I might be a Pampers snob as well. But my husband is working on his masters and I’m the bread winner…so we use White Cloud and we have been very happy with them. When our son went to size 3 I think White Cloud is all we used. I am prego with #2 and probably plan to do the same thing- use coupons with Pamper and once they hit size 3’s switch to White Cloud. No, they aren’t as soft, but I have had very few leaks and did move him up a size overnight to prevent overnight leaks. We love Target wipes- they are soft and don’t rip! As all moms do, you want the best for your baby. Just do what’s best for you and your family. What works for others may not work for you. This is such a great way to get feedback though! I would definitely give White Cloud a try and see if they work for Elias! Good luck!

  79. I am a total Pampers snob. I started out with the Swaddlers, which I especially loved because I had a stash of them before Avinash was born. We have tried other brands, like Huggies – also horrible on Avinash when he was tiny, and Walgreens – never again. So, I just bought a bunch of big Pampers boxes and am going to live with that.

  80. Well – for the record – I have one boy and one girl. They are different in diaper wearing for sure!! I HATED Huggies for my boy, too. I bought Pampers when they were both newborns, but after that I went to Sam’s Club brand (Member’s Mark I think) and they have been great for both kids – even at night. Oh yeah, and I hated Target brand for my boy, too….and Luv’s leaked at night. 🙂 Happy diaper hunting!

  81. Total Pampers snob, I am. I wish I had found diapers.com with kid #1, instead of kid #2. They are much cheaper, they come in a bigger box, AND, they are delivered FREE right to your door. Check it out….

  82. I do the Pampers at night and use the Walmart brand, Parent’s Choice, during the day. I really like them, and can get a case for about $14.

  83. We’ve always used Huggies Supreme. The regular Huggies are not as thick/absorbent. I tried Pampers and they leaked 🙁 I also tried the Costco brand and they were ok. But I always use coupons and look around for sales. Same with wipes.

  84. Hi, I just came across your blog..

I use to be a Pampers snob, but I have switched to LUVS. Have you tried them? Seriously I started using Pampers when I had my first child. I slowly tried other brands but I ran into huge problems.. leaks or rashes. I then tried LUVS and I love everything about them. They remind me so much of Pampers. Since I discovered LUVS with my first child, I started them with my youngest who is now 6 months.. and I was super excited when I saw the stretchy sides just like Pampers. Ahhh, I wouldn’t change my LUVS for anything now!
