Confession: I’m Behind on Project 365
How is Project 365 going for you?
Are you as behind as me?
I am doing very well on my photos. I have all pictures in my album through September 30. (Never mind that I just developed June 11 through September 30 last Thursday.) Most weeks I took six photos. With as busy as life is, I am okay with that.
However, my journaling stinks people. I have not filled out my journaling cards since April!! I was keeping up with it on my 365 blog, but that has fallen behind too.
I have made a commitment that over the next month, I am going to get caught up.
I must.
I know that if I don’t finish the journaling cards by the end of the year, I probably never will. I am terrible at that kind of thing.
And I really want to do 365 again next year.
Please tell me I am not the only one that is behind! Are you trying to get caught up or have you given up?

I'm planning to start a Project365 this week. I read about it on your blog and think it's such a great way to capture all the moments in life.
But after your post… I'm also not really good at these things. Well, I'm gonna try!
Good luck this coming month; hope you'll get caught up!
Blessings,
Jessica
I was so excited about this project until about March (lol) and then it just kind of stopped. I stopped the journaling and the photos:( I just fell behind and I felt that I couldn't catch up. My husband really loved the idea behind the project and he wants me to start it again and I will when I know I can commit to it 100%.

I am just like Nicole!! I was so excited and really kept up with it, then around March -April I started missing days, then just stopped all together.
I like the idea but I either need a better system or it's just not for me!
I didn't feel brave enough to tackle Project 365, but I decided I would do a Daily December album this year. Then I was inspired by Parents.com's 100 Days of Holidays–a daily e-mail from Sept. 24 to Jan. 1 with ideas for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
The daily e-mail thing isn't scrapbooking-related, but it inspired me to do a sort of mini-365 through all the fall and winter holidays. I'm not sure how (or if) I'm going to scrapbook them all, but I am taking the pics each day and posting them on my blog, with journaling, on a weekly basis.
I am keeping up with taking a picture a day. I have only missed one day. But I am really behind on getting the pictures developed and the journaling cards. I have been keeping a journal that I update about once a month.
My biggest problem is that I didn't get a kit so I created my own and I am typing all my journaling cards and that takes a long time.
So you are not the only one.
Susan
I am so glad to hear that it's not just me! April was a blankish month for me, as was August. I'm trying to recover with just some of the daily life pictures to put in there.
I haven't journaled since mid-March.
I'm awful, but I want to keep going!
I stopped journaling in April, like you. I kept thinking I would catch up, but still haven't. I decided to take August off from the picture taking since I was getting so burned out. I really haven't started again. So I guess I made it 4 or 7 months, depending on how you look at it. Maybe I'll try again next year, but probably not.
I am right there with you! I stopped the journaling in April as well. I have kept up with the pictures though and have a 4×6 collage of pictures most days as I can't just choose one pictures.
But the journaling I am just giving up on. With the collage of pictures I didn't really feel a need for a journal. Plus I already keep a journal for each of my girls and do a Shutterfly 12×12 book for each of them every 6 months. I think everything in our lives are pretty much documented, HA!
Hi Jessica – I'm just like you – all the photos are caught up through the end of Sept (I'm just waiting until Saturday to develop the pics from Oct due to Walgreens having their 10cent prints again) – the journaling I'm till about the beginning of September but I don't journal as much as I probably should – most of the pictures speak for themselves & if it's just another picture of my dog, that means I didn't do anything else exciting and at 9pm realized I needed a pic of the day so that doesn't really need a lot of journaling). I was thinking about doing it again next year but I don't think I will as sometimes I just don't want to take any pictures in a day (and I'm someone who LOVES taking pictures) – so I think I might just not do it next year, but maybe every other year or something…it's a great idea & it is fun to look back on but then I have so many albums going – 365, regular, scrapbook from trip etc. – it's a little overwelming at time…the journaling is what keeps me behind 🙂
Good luck – with being a mom I'm sure it's even harder to get it all done! Elias' 1 year pics are very cute!!
Happy Tuesday!
Ashley
I set myself up in the beginning for not falling behind. I wasn't able to get the great book with pieces that were provided and decided I'd take a photo a day and journal about our month at the end of the month. At the end of Jan. our journaling was pretty boring and I made one spread with all 31 photos, so there wasn't room for journaling anyway. I did however, jump start several other pages I wanted to create about the month. This set me up for success. I fell behind this month, I haven't yet created Augusts page, but Sept photos are being printed. I am however missing a lot more days than I was at the beginning. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to do it again next year. I think not.
I'm super behind. Last picture I posted on my 365 blog was for June 15th. And not one picture has been printed out. I'm starting to fall behind on even taking the pictures. Luckily, when I do pull out the camera, I take others as well, so I usually have a few extras I can pull from to represent our daily lives.
I plan to do project 365 next year as it will be my 21st birthday/graduation year. I hope too not get behind but knowing my luck it will.
I got to day 137 and I stopped. My husband and I moved out to California from Michigan and I just didn't have the time to keep going. I really want to start again. I think I'm going to wait until January 1st and make it my new years resolution!
behind is an understatement….ugh.
But like you I must find the time to get it done and filled out b.c. like you I have every intention of doing it again next year.
I'm there with you. But I think I'm even more behind. Have photos printed out until May, maybe, but not all put into the book, just through March. And my journaling stopped in February. Though I do jot down what happened that day on a notepad…I've just got to get it on the journaling cards. Luckily I think I'm taking enough photos, and if I miss a day I've got ideas on what to fill that in with, like photos of something around the house to represent our lives. I just need some blocks of time, which rarely happens, to get caught up. I have a feeling I'll be trying to wrap this all up in the New Year. I'm thinking next year I may want to try a different approach, maybe a photo a week. Something more manageable that I'll be able to keep up with and not feel awful that I'm behind all the time. I like the concept though of capturing daily life and not just special occassions. Best of luck to you and you try and catch up!
No worries – I'm about a month behind too on the journaling. I'm even behind on getting my pictures organized from the digital camera, so sometimes I forget what's what! (Thank goodness for "picture taken on" metadata!) My trick is going back and looking at Twitter or my blog entries for journaling inspiration. That usually gives me enough info about what was happening to remember what I wanted to write! Another reason to tweet, people.

Like you I'm caught up with the photos, but way behind on the journaling. I do a weekly post of my P365 entries and can always copy the journaling off of it – finding time to do it is the hard part. Also I recently purchased Ali Edward's Year in Review Calendar and added all my photos up till Sept. I plan on printing it off and including it in my son's baby album since so many of the pictures are of him. Confession: I am even more behind than you are 🙂
I JUST printed my first round of photos out this week. Yes, that far behind. I've got Jan-March in my album but somehow seem to have lost a month's worth of photos. More than a little frustrating. I'm not giving up, though. I'm just trying to catch up and stay on top of it.
I usually manage 4ish pictures a week, but it works out because most weeks I have a ton of photos to choose from. So I just choose photos I like if I don't have one for that specific day, regardless of whether I actually took it that day or not. That's the only way my 365 isn't a TOTAL failure!!!
I'm also going to try and do it again next year, I really like the concept.
I am with you…I have done a great job with picture…up until this week, I think it is the weather now that has me not taking as many pictures. I just finished my journaling up until April as well. My goal is the next month or 2 to get caught up. I have a lot of the cards cut, so I just need to get the journaling done…maybe this week during great Thursday night TV I can get another month done…we will see.
I want to do it again next year, but I don't know if I will do a day or more of a month page. We will see what happens.
Love your blog!
Thanks!
I'm behind on EVERYTHING. Good thing Fall is here and I am ready to cuddle up indoors with some projects!
I did not do Project 365 this year but am interested in doing it next year. Before January, will you tell us what worked for you this year and what kind of product you would recommend?
