Xyron Creatopia Reveal
A few weeks ago I was blessed to receive one of the first Creatopia machines from Xyron to use for a variety of crafting projects for the company. (I think Martha Stewart was another one of the early recipients, so I was in good company!!)
The Creatopia is a BIG deal in the scrapbooking industry, and I have been so excited about the product development over the past year. (It has been hard to keep it a secret.) Never has one product been able to do so much (and I am all about streamlining my scrapbooking products. Goodness knows I have more than I need!) The Creatopia is an all-in-one 12″ machine that has four families of product:
- The refillz family: Cartridges of permanent, repositionable and fabric adhesive, as well as two-sided laminate
- The cutz family: Allows you to cut paper up to 12 inches wide in straight or patterned edges
- The patternz family: Allows you to emboss up to 3″ of paper in a variety of patterns
- The shapz family: Allows you to use die cuts from almost all manufacturers in the machine
If you want to learn more about the products, go to YouTube and search Xyron. They have made some really informative videos all about each of the product families for Creatopia.
Here is a video of Elias and I opening the product for the first time.
I have not had a lot of time to play with the machine yet, but I definitely will be over the next few months. I am so excited to have one machine that can do so much. I am particularly excited about the fabric adhesive option because fabric is really popular in scrapbooking right now, but it can be a bit of a pain to adhere to layouts. I also think this is going to be great for altering, card making and other crafting projects.
It should be available in stores within the next month. The price point for the machine is about $149, but I know you will be able to use Michael’s/JoAnn’s coupons to buy it. When you think of the cost of a laminating machine, a big adhesive machine, an embosser and a die-cut tool, this is really much more cost-effective. I am grateful to have received one from Xyron or I would have been asking for one for Christmas!!
What do you think of the Creatopia? Could you see yourself using it?

That would be so cool. I can think of a ton of crafts/homeschool projects to do with that – in addition to scrapping!
Just watching you open up ALL of that stuff gives me great anxiety…and gives me one more reason NOT to scrapbook. Too much work and not enough space in my tiny little home to put everything. But, I'm glad you enjoy it…and I enjoy your finished products.
Ooh, I want one too. Man, why didn't they give you one to give away? Seriously!
Breathing into a paper bag right now. Oh my cow I want one of those.
That looks awesome! I have been thinking of getting a Xyron since I read about one on your blow quite a while ago. I just haven't pulled the plug on getting one yet. Maybe I'll just wait and ask for this one for Christmas. I'm not sure that I would use all the functions, but I would use a couple of them. Please let us know how you like it!
Wow! That looks like so much fun! I want one! I'm on my way to youtube to see how it works!
I have been waiting to see more about these since I started seeing the ads…it looks really cool. I can't wait to see one in person.
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I've been away from the blog world for a little bit and only read today. Hopefully that time is her advantage as technology is improving all the time.
The Creatopia looks great. Unfortunately for us Aussies something that sells for $150 in the US is about $300 here! I'm yet to make the diecut investment – maybe this is something that will tick all my boxes!
