Hospital Recap – Day Two
This morning Dad called me as Melissa and I were getting ready to go to the hospital to say that we didn’t need to come – that Mom was going to be discharged in a few hours.
Fabulous news!! We couldn’t believe it.
However, Melissa and I ignored Dad and decided to still go to the hospital. We got there at about 9:30 am.
We left the hospital at 8:30 pm – without Mom.
While she is doing great and feeling well, her blood pressure was a bit lower than they would like it to be, so they decided to keep her an extra night to monitor her. She will likely come home tomorrow – as originally anticipated.
She did have a headache when we left, which is normal. (After all, she has platinum in her brain…) Her doctor said she will likely have a headache for about a week after the surgery. Her leg is also sore from where they entered her artery. She is able to walk fine though, which is good.
Hopefully she will get as good of a night’s sleep as possible, given the fact that nurses will be checking on her every hour. She is on medicine to manage her pain.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
Also, please be praying for Matthew’s Uncle Ray and Aunt Sue. Their son Mark (Matthew’s cousin) unexpectedly passed away while on a run. He was only 32. He fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and was a marathon runner. They are devastated and we are all mourning.
