Voracious Reader: My 2010 Books

I have always been a voracious reader.

Matthew says I am happier when I am reading.

He is probably right.

So I have decided to keep track of all the books that I read in 2010.

I will update this post throughout the year and will keep the link on my side bar.

The books will be listed chronologically, with the most recently read on the top.

The Midwife: A Memoir of Birth, Joy, and Hard Times – LOVED this book. Seriously, amazing. READ IT! (August 2010)
The Prodigal God: Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith – Recent book club book. Inspired me to dig deeper into Jesus’s parables. (August 2010)
Burning Bright – I didn’t quite finish this book, but I am still putting it on the list because I almost finished it. I normally love Tracy Chevalier, but this book wasn’t her best… I wouldn’t recommend it. (June 2010)
Strong Women, Soft Hearts: The latest Bloom Book Club book – a great, challenging book that all women should read (June 2010)
The Heretic’s Daughter: An great historical fiction book about the Salem Witch trials. Totally captivating. (June 2010)
The Middle Place: An easy read. I loved the author’s voice and I so related to being in the “middle place” (May 2010)
Carry You: My dear friend Angie’s book tells her story of carrying her daughter Audrey. A beautiful book that all should read. (April 2010)
The Book Thief: I listened to all of you and bought this book right away. It was a great read, though I thought it was a little long. It was perfect for plane rides and layovers. (March 2010)
The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir: I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. I read it in three days. (March 2010)
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (Random House Reader’s Circle): This book took me a while to get into, but I couldn’t put it down by the end. I think it is one of those books you have to read in long stretches of time to keep up with the characters, because there are many.
The Blue Star: A Novel: Though this book has won a lot of awards and accolades, I thought it was a little boring. I wouldn’t really recommend it.
The Blood of Flowers: A Novel: This book is one of the best historical fiction books I have ever read. (Historical fiction is my favorite genre of books)
Sarah’s Key: This book takes place today and during World War II. I loved the way the two stories wove together. Great, easy read.
The Help: I loved this book.
Definitely Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 6): This was the last Sookie book that I read. I read one right after the other and was getting tired of them by this one.
