World Vision Wednesday: Can I Meet Your Sponsored Child?

This week we decided to sponsor a child in the Dominican Republic. We already sponsor three kids (two with World Vision and one with Compassion), so we really prayed about it for the past week to see if it was something we should do. Our financial situation last year made me hesitant. It is always nerve-wracking to take on another bill.

But ultimately, we felt God leading us to step out on faith and sponsor another child. I know we waste $35 a month on items we don’t need. So we are going to further cut back on our budget so that we can give much to Juan. Isn’t he a doll?

It is his birthday on April 20. I am hoping our visit makes it one to remember.

Over the next few weeks I am going to boldly be asking you to pray to sponsor a child with World Vision. I know it may make some of you uncomfortable. I know that some of you are financially strapped and $35 a month is impossible.  But I also know that many of you are probably like us.

You aren’t rich, but you make enough to pay your bills and have a little wiggle room.

And that little wiggle room can make the difference in the life of one child. A life with education and a future. A life with food and opportunity.

Can I Meet Your Sponsored Child?
While in the DR, I would love to meet your sponsored child. (The children linked here are all at the project I will be visiting). World Vision is coordinating visits for us to meet many children and if it is possible to meet yours, get their picture, etc., I will! I know it isn’t the same as meeting them yourself, but I would love to be your hands and feet. I will hug them and let them know that you love them and are praying for them.

Update: Kids must be sponsored by April 14 for World Vision to coordinate the meetings!
