You Create: 8×10 Layouts
What size photos do you usually use in your scrapbooking? Chances are you use 4x6s photos.
I do.
I typically use 4×6 photos in my scrapbooking because:
- It’s standard.
- I don’t plan my layouts ahead of time, so I don’t know when I would like an enlargement.
- It’s cost-effective (especially when combined with a photo deal).
- I can incorporate more photos on a page.
Lately there have been a lot of 8×10 photo deals. Since I don’t have a lot of 8×10 frames, I have been using the photos in my scrapbooking layouts.
Check them out:
2 Peas in a Pod (8×10): You’ll notice that the journaling circles around the cut-outs of the boys.
Family (8×10): Super simple – didn’t trim the photo at all. Just a couple paper layers, a journaling tag, a title – DONE.
The Union Terrace (this was actually a free 11×14 that I got a while back and cut down): This layout is on a Hambly 12×12 transparency, which I LOVE.
Incorporating large photos in scrapbooking is so fun! The pages are usually easy to create (each of these took 15-30 minutes) and the results are impressive because the photo pops so much.
Do you ever use large photos in your scrapbooking?

Hi Jessica,
Thanks for sharing the idea of using large photo prints. I’ve been using only 4×6 for my scrapbook project. Honestly, I am new in scrapbooking and even blogging, and still wanna learn more, so reading your blog posts are really help me a lot, too 🙂
