Elias’s Favorites – 32 Months
Elias’s latest thing is to say “it’s my favorite” (ie: I love Beauty Beast. It’s my favorite) or “my favorite” (ie: Blue my favorite color. M my favorite letter).
It CRACKS us up.
So I thought I should jot down a few of Elias’s favorites, right now, at 32 months.
Toys & Activities
- Alphie Robot – he LOVES this more and more each week. He loves letters and so the process of identifying letters is quite fun to him. He hasn’t quite gotten the hang of the buttons, but that will come.
- Play-doh – oh my word does he love Play-doh, particularly rolling it out and making shapes with little cookie cutter things.
- Matchbox cars – Truly, I have a boy. These little cars seem to be always under foot.
- VTech keyboard – He got this for Christmas and it is amazing. It has a microphone and so many fun options.
- Painting – He loves to paint. I bought him this easel for his birthday this summer and I know he is going to love it!
- Foam letters in the bathtub – We have no need for other bath toys, because seriously, he just wants his letters.
Outdoor activities
- Chalk
- Riding his bike – A friend passed this down to us and it is soooo awesome. Elias can’t quite work the pedals, but loves trying. It is so easy for Matthew or I to push. Great for afternoon walks.
- Blowing bubbles
- Going to the park and sliding down the slides
- Sandbox (at school – his shoes always come home with sand in them!)
Books
- Llama Llama Misses Mama – This is my favorite book to read with Elias. The rhyming is so awesome.
- Cat in the Hat
- Thomas the Train
- There’s a Monster at the End of This Book (both the original and the Elmo edition)
Characters
- Buzz Lightyear
- Woody (though not as much as Buzz)
- Elmo
Speech
- Alphabet and numbers – He knows all his ABCS and can almost count to 20 without missing a number. When he is playing, he will often be singing A B C D E F G or counting.
- Singing – Elias is singing more and more these days. His repertoire includes: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; ABCs; Farmer in the Dell; Old McDonald; Itsy Bitsy Spider, 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, Jingle Bells, and the Elias version of BINGO (ELIAS, ELIAS, ELIAS that’s how we spell ELIAS!)
- Saying “no”. His stubbornness is beginning to really rear its ugly head. I wonder where he got that from?! Certainly not his mother.
Movies/Shows
- SuperWhy
- Dinosaur Train
- Cat in the Hat
- Sesame Street
- Care Bears
- Jungle Book
- Peter Pan
- Beauty and the Beast (he calls the Beast “lion beast”)
- Toy Story (all of them)
- Thomas the Train
- Veggie Tales
- Wheel of Fortune (or as he calls it, The Letter Show. Every night he yells at the TV – M PLEASE!!)
