Meeting Suze Orman + $2,500 in Freebies from Her
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the American Heart Association’s Nashville Go Red for Women with some of my colleagues from Vanderbilt Heart. Suze Orman was the speaker and she was so inspirational. (More about her in a minute.)
Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States?
Heart disease is something that is very important to me because my grandfather died of a heart attack in his early 50s, so I have a genetic risk for the disease. But, that doesn’t mean that I can’t take action to prevent the other risk factors! Eating healthy and exercising are so important.
Check out the free My Life Check tool that AHA offers to see what you can do to prevent this disease in your life.
Suze emphasized that health and wealth are the two biggest concerns for Americans. She shared that most people do not have the following four “must have” documents:
* Will
* Revocable Trust
* Advanced Directive and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care
* Financial Power of Attorney
She offered these four documents for free (customizable for all 50 states) to all attendees of the luncheon – and she said I could share it on my blog. Just go to “Must Have Documents” on her website and enter the gift code gored. This code is only good until Monday night. These are valued at $2,500, so DEFINITELY take advantage of this. I know we plan to this weekend.
You can also use the gift code gored to sign up for a one-year subscription to her Money Navigator newsletter, valued at more than $80.
Suze offered these tools to thank attendees for supporting the American Heart Association’s Go Red organization. If you would like to contribute to this organization, click here.
I can’t say enough about how nice Suze was in person. She was so friendly and down-to-earth. Matthew and I love the Suze Orman skits on SNL and I asked if she loved them and she said she did. 🙂 So awesome.
Nice Blog about Susie O. She has helped thru the years with advice and love the articicle and Very proud of You. Love & Wishes Aunt Jean & Uncle Ed
thanks!
The Must have Documents will not work with the code : gored. The Newsletter worked with that code. Can you tell us if there is another code or what is wrong??????? Thanks so much!
Make sure you put the code in the “gift code” section. You do not need a password. It worked for me. Good luck.
I’m a divorce who was walked out on, after leaving my job for 17 years (after raising HIS kids). Thank you for encouraging me that it is NEVER to late to get started taking care of MYSELF.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! (all caps = really really mean it!) LOL
You made my day with this. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much (and Suze too) for this information! I keep putting this stuff off cause I’m under 30 and naive >_<;; hopefully this will be what I need to get my legalities in order once and for all!
So excited….I bet it was very inspirational to hear her !!!
On behalf of the American Heart Association, thanks for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed the day – and Suze! We think she is quite awesome too.
Thanks for sharing! I took advantage of this last night. I’ve been meaning to contact a lawyer and create these important documents, but have just kept putting it off. It was so simple to create and now all I have to do is swing by the bank and get them notarized. You are awesome, thanks again!!
