31 Days:: My Love Affair with Photo Books + A Free One
This is the 17th day in a series: 31 Days of Memory Keeping. Check out all the posts here.
I blame Groupon for my love affair with photo books.
You see, before Groupon, it was rare to find exceptional deals on photo books. And while I loved the idea of photo books, they weren’t in my budget.
But when Groupon launched, that all changed. Companies run photo book deals on flash deal sites like Groupon all the time. (Seriously, you should never pay full price for a photo book.)
I have snatched up dozens of deals on photo books, enabling me to chronicle tons of stories and photos.
Moreover, since having kids, I have found it easier and less time-consuming to create photo books for large batches of photos than to make mini scrapbooks or lots of scrapbook pages from one single event.
Typically I use the 8×8 format. It is a very manageable project-size and not too time consuming to complete a book. (I can often get a book designed in one sitting).
This week I will be sharing some of my favorite photo book projects.
I have made photo books on a lot of different websites, but my favorite to use for telling stories is Paper Coterie. They have such beautiful templates (with really different, original concepts for books) and I love, love, love the matte cover
Can you guess what Paper Coteris is offering this week?
YES!
Thanks to Paper Coterie, I am THRILLED to offer all Mom Creative readers a FREE Paper Coterie photo book!
Select and design your book, then use the code MOMCREATIVE2 to get a free photo book (just pay shipping!). This deal expires on Sunday, October 23, so be sure to get busy on your book!
Thank you, thank you to Paper Coterie.
What will you create?
If it isn’t too much trouble, consider liking this post so it appears on Facebook. Your willingness to help spread the word about this great deal and about Paper Coterie is much appreciated! You can also thank Paper Coterie for their generosity here. xo
Other (still available) freebies from 31 Days of Memory Keeping:
Disclosure: I approached Paper Coterie with the idea to offer this freebie for my readers because I love Paper Coterie so, so much. They provided me with several codes to make more of the products I love and already used.
Can’t thank you enough for all of these memory-keeping freebies!!! I’m having so much fun!
I’m so glad. It is my pleasure!!
Hi! 🙂 I’d never heard of this company before, but they look really neat! Any way you could get them to offer a couponcode for a recipe book?!?! I’d really like to make one of those. 🙂
You are in luck. All coil bound books are included in this promo- including the recipe books!
Yahoo!! Finding a way to make a recipe/photo book is an answered prayer!!! 🙂 I’ve been trying to do one for ages. And now I can do it free?!?!!! Many blessings to you! 🙂
I’ve been making a photo book each year for my daughter (and I probably got the idea from you!) but they are her favorite “story” books. And it’s a great way to keep the memories of loved ones alive for her. Thanks for this deal!
I will be sharing my annual photo books later this week. 🙂
Just found a photobook on Groupon for today!
Mixbook Deal $50 in products for $15! Just find “Piedmont Triad” as your city location
I used Mixbook for Adeline’s birth announcements and was very happy with them.
Is the offer for a certain type of book? (hard/soft and what size?)
It is for any photo book, any size, any kind, hard or soft. 🙂
Hi! You said all photo books are included… but how about the ‘day to remember’ books? My daughter’s first birthday is coming up and I thought it would be awesome to have all the guests at her party write something to her… Thanks!
yes, day to remember are included!
I like making photobooks too. At first I was getting tons and tons of prints made, but I never put them in a photo album. Now, I just save the photos until I find a great deal, and make a book. So much easier.
Is there a set shipping cost, or does it vary by region/price/size??? Thanks for sharing this awesome freebie!!!
It varies by region.
Jessica, Thank you so much for sharing this! I made one for my best friend–and it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I will certainly think of this company in the future–usually I’m a shutterfly customer no matter what, but the quality of these looks amazing! Thanks again!
Yeah, I think you will definitely want to add PC to your mix. 🙂
I just finished my first photo book! Thank you for this coupon code! I am so excited to get it!
Many thanks!!
Love your blog and this series of posts your doing!
Thanks so much!
Do you know if you can alter the order of a paper coterie book? For example, move page 20 in front of page 15?
This is one of the only downsides I have found to their website. You can’t move pages easily (like you can with Shutterfly or Snapfish). You have to do it from “scratch” so to speak.
I’m really having trouble with this website. 🙁 it took me two days to download the photos I wanted to use, & now i can’t get the book to stay loaded long enough to do… keep getting an error page. i’m running out of time, wish i knew what i was doing wrong… that is one of the big fallbacks about trying a new website, takes me too long to learn how to use their program.
Thanks Jessica, I just finished creating my book and I’m excited to get it!
PS: I noticed the same thing that Sarah did…figuring out a way to organize your pages would be a great improvement for their website.
I received my memory keeper today and loved it. It was even better than I anticipated. So excited to have this for my son’s special mementos. Love them!!
I made the photobook as well and although the product turned out great, it was pretty time consuming and more challenging to put together than other photobooks I have made at Shutterfly. I’m loving Paper Coterie and their beautiful products though and was so excited to be able to try out some of their different products for FREE!
PC is soooo generous!
