31 Days :: Showcasing Old Photos
This is the 27th day in a series: 31 Days of Memory Keeping. Check out all the posts here.
I love old photos. I think they contain so much story.
If you have old photos, don’t leave them in shoe boxes.
Scan them (either yourself or use a service), put them in photo albums and display them.
My sister Melissa scanned generations worth of old photos of our family and her husband’s family to create two large “heritage walls” in her home. She got the large frames at Kirklands.
The legacy they showcase is stunning.
I love this idea and hope to do something like it in my home some day.
Also, if you are interested in Family History Scrapbooking, you should definitely check out Becky Higgins’ book on the subject. It is an excellent resource.
Do you have old photos displayed in your home?
I do not have old photos displayed in my home and I have always wanted to. I have a lot of photos of my female line back to my great-great-grandmother, and I would love to frame those photos through my daughter’s generation.
Wouldn’t it be neat to do a generational frame of your great great grandma, your great grandma, your grandma, your mother, you and your daughter?
I LOVE this idea! We have a few walls with family pictures but they are all current ones (I even switch them out annually) but I would love to share some of our history with my kids and anyone who comes over! Also this will make a great gift for a grandparent who says she loves looking at pictures but doesn’t want to get them all out – she has the perfect wall. Thank you for the idea it is wonderful!
This is stunning. I love the classic theme of the pictures. And they look perfect on the wall. The frames are perfect too!
