Project Life Tuesday: Week Four
I started Project Life Tuesday in 2010 because:
- I needed to keep myself accountable and on top of my photos each week.
- My family loved being able to count on a weekly post with pics of the kids.
- I thought others might want to keep themselves accountable too.
It was a huge blessing and so I am excited to be kicking off my third year of this series.
Each Tuesday, I will share my spread from the previous week, as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. This year, Epson is sponsoring Project Life Tuesday, and they provided me with their Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201) for many of my album’s photos. Printing photos at home is hopefully going to help keep me on track!
If you link up, please be sure to include the Project Life Tuesday button or a link to The Mom Creative in your post.
Notes about my album: Before showing my layouts, I want to share a few details about my album:
- I am using the colbalt kit this year.
- I stamped all my weekly 6×4 cards and have placed them in my album. It just seemed easiest to get this done all at once. I used a date stamp from a past Project Life kit. If you don’t have on, Amazon has date stamps
for less than $5. You can also find them at office supply stores. - I printed my photos at home using my new Epson printer. I loved how convenient it was. I plan to print most of my pictures at home this year, especially large format images, using the Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201)

Now, on to my completed pages.
This week I used the back side of my Design F page protector, a 6×12 protector and a Design A protector. I think I am officially addicted to having at least one extra protector in my album each week. At this rate, my album is going to have to be broken up into two by summer.
My extra life bits were a drawing that Elias made and some receipts.
For both sides of my 6×12 protector, I created a collage of images in Photoshop Elements. This enabled me to use a bunch of photos for one story. I really love how they turned out.
I used a combination of American Crafts thickers and October Afternoon letter stickers for the titles. I placed the stickers directly on the photos before slipping them in the page protectors. Matthew asked why I don’t just do the titles in Photoshop before printing out the photos, and I replied that it is because I love the dimension thickers add to the pages. (This doesn’t mean I won’t someday type on my photos, but right now I am having fun with the tactile process of using my stash – especially since I haven’t in so long!)
I added some epoxy stickers to give this photo a bit of pop. I love stacking word stickers together.
Be sure to be following me on Pinterest, particularly my Project Life board to be inspired by many Project Life layouts and loads of free and cheap printables.
Also, if you don’t “like” The Mom Creative on Facebook, what are you waiting for? I post tons of extras on there and would be honored for you to be a part of that community!
Your turn! (Please be sure to include the Project Life Tuesday button or a link to The Mom Creative in your post.)
I like the texture that the thickers add too.
Your photos are great – thanks for sharing.
That 6×12 photo collage really packs a colourful punch – fabulous way of including lots of extra photos!
love the circus picture!!!!! it is great, thanks for hosting this party I have really enjoyed it the last month…I wasn’t able to sleep tonight so I was able to post 2nd 🙂
Have a great week!
Love the epoxy stickers. I love the added dimensions.
Love the photo collages. I have pse, but just stumble through it blindly. Any tips on good tutorials? I will be jumping into the party this week even though I still have no page protectors….I am just going to show my layouts without!
I am totally self taught. I think Jessica Sprague and Ali Edwards both offer some tutorials.
Love the circus collage! So fun!
Love the infectious grin of Adeline in the bath time pictures – it is hard not to just smile right back at her. Thanks again for the link party.
I love adding word stickers to my pictures too! Thanks for the link party. I’ve really enjoyed seeing so many wonderful PL layouts.
i love love love the 6×12 insert! i wish i could print those at home! i may just do an 8.5×11 and add that extra inch with something attached to it. love the middle insert with the stickers, the bath time stickers are adorable i wish i had those!
Yes, adding an inch of fun paper would TOTALLY work!
hey, you can delete my first entry (#23) because it was a wonky link and it won’t give me the little x to delete it. 🙂 sorry about that!! I put it in correctly as #41. Thanks as always for hosting! 🙂
Love the 3D and the “pop.” Thanks for hosting, Jessica!
thanks for the morning smiles…xoxoxo
I love the bath time/circus insert. Super cute!
circus, circus, circus! i love the circus, contemplating going on Saturday actually, the ringling but still….can’t decide. I would like to use one of those templates, I have reg. photoshop…i need to look into getting a template or something. thank you for organizing this gigantic blog hop every tuesday!
I don’t use a template – I just crop and place my images. The circus one was a 6×6, 3×6, 3×3, 3×3. I think I have a free template download on my Project Life pinterest board…
sorry *not ringling 🙂 love you!
Love your pages. Your photos are just so cute. I really like how you did the circus stuff. 😀
Jessica, I love inserts too! 🙂 Your photos are beautiful and I especially like the idea of doing a photo-collage for the 6×12 page protector. Thanks for sharing your layouts with us and giving us a place to share ours!
Hi Jessica! I really like the new content on the blog and am inspired by your fresh take on Project Life. I have also enjoyed your recent posts on crafts and wondered if you have any suggestions for Valentine’s Day? I am a preschool teacher of young toddlers and am looking for a creative Valentine gift to make for parents. Thanks for your hard work on the blog!
I love thickers also and they look great in your album! So proud of us for keeping up for an entire month! I can’t believe how big Adeline is getting! I really think that she looks a lot like Elias! They are both such cuties:)
Your photo collages are great, the circus is such a big event it would be hard to sum it up in one photo! I love the bath pictures, such a happy baby in the water. Mine continues to look very worried whenever he’s in his.
Thanks for hosting this linkup, I am always inspired after looking at all the different Project Life links. So much creativity.
Nice work on the inserts! Loving how your album is coming together and look at you all caught up for the whole year so far! 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration to do so myself!
I love the inserts as well and it was hard for me this week with less photos to do a two-page spread ;} Two books for one year is really not a bad thing when you think about how many other albums you might be doing if you were making traditional ones. I love the idea of PL encompasing all those albums in one place. I’ll still do some small albums for vacations and for gifts but as far as the tradtional 12×12…I’ll be sticking to PL.
WOW! Can I just say . . . I want to be you! 🙂 So organized and creative! Can you just make my books for me each week? 🙂 I still never finished my kid’s baby books or even started our adopted daughter’s life book! I gave up on scrapbooking a couple years ago when I realized I was more of a scrapbook supply collector than a scrapbooker!
This is inspiring though. I may have to pin it for the future. Right now . . . I need to tackle purging and completing other projects I’ve started and never finished (like maybe those baby books!).
Love this idea!!
Furthermore, the selling cost of the vimax is
not precisely cheap.
