Mirror Mirror: A Crafty Tutorial
Today I am pleased to share this altered mirror box tutorial based on the upcoming family film Mirror Mirror, in theaters on March 30. This is an incredibly simple project that you could easily do with your kids, friends or by yourself! If you can’t find a box, you can easily do this on any mirror.
Supplies:
- Rub-ons (I used some from Cosmo Cricket)
- An unfinished box with a mirror on it (I found this one at Michaels)
- Paint
- A foam brush
Step 1: Put some painters or masking tape around the edge of the mirror so you don’t get paint on it.
Step 2: Paint your box. I have a scrap piece of chipboard that I always paint on.
Step 3: Wait for it to dry and paint a second coat.
Step 4: Cut out the rub-on you want to put on the mirror (this ensures you won’t accidentally attach more than one rub-on.
Step 5: Position the rub-on on your mirror and carefully burnish it on. Go slowly. Start in one spot and work in a circular pattern until you have rubbed the whole thing on the mirror.
Step 6: Admire your completed box! It is darling indeed.
I’m such a huge Julia Roberts fan and was so honored to be asked to participate in this blog hop. I hope you enjoy creating this project!
