Project Life: Week 12 {Guest Post}
____________________________
Seriously can life fly by any faster? Wow…I don’t think it could…I feel like we are in hyper drive and Project Life is at least helping me to slow down and take the scenic route. So thankful for that!
Well, some of you may not know me, I’m Kelli Johnson. I am married to my college sweetheart, live in Virginia and have 2 kids and a crazy Doodle named, Paddington. I have been scrapbooking for 16+ years now! But Project Life has transformed the way I scrapbook.
I met Jessica in Birmingham, Alabama at a scrapbooking conference and we became instant friends. I only wished we lived closer to each other. I’m so happy to be here with you all today, hosting what I consider a highlight to my week!
You can find me at In My Life. I mostly post about scrapbooking and my family.
On with the show!
Week 12 thoughts:
- loved using my phone camera this week. I do not have an iPhone but I do love the Camera 360 app on my android phone and pretty much use it 99% of the time when taking phone shots
- trying to make sure one child is not represented more then the other is a challenge
- I can’t tell myself enough…”TAKE YOUR CAMERA PLACES AND USE IT!”
- I prefer journaling as I go, it works better for me and I like the outcome
- highlighting the nows: movie tickets, weather, daily exercise, receipts, etc. will be cool later I just know it.
- this has nothing to do with Project Life, however if you are married…go on dates, it’s a good thing
So here is my week:
Full Spread. Two Design A Project Life Pages. One Card Collector Insert. I used an old Project Life Kit plus my Amber Kit. And threw in doilies, washi tape and yes, a bag from Chinese food take out!
Title Card: See through Hambly transparency, date stamp, October Afternoon letter stickers and twine.
Left Side:
Up Close Look at my journal cards, washi tape, Amy Tan letter thickers and masking tape (love masking tape). And here is an example of two times I didn’t have my camera, but I think it was still important for me to document with words. (there is total of 4x this week I wish I had a photo)
More upclose journaling: Both of these moments I documented on Facebook earlier this week, if it’s appropriate to be public that is a great way to quickly jot a kid quote down or a mishap such as the loss of my Keurig. (Keurig completely replaced it by the way)
Great week Kelli, thanks for sharing.
love all the little details you include!
What a lovely week!
Lovely pages Kelli!
Beautiful pages, thanks for sharing. Maybe next Tuesday I’ll have a PL post to link up with 🙂 While reading, I just got an idea for a PL post, so thank you for the inspiration!
well now you have me curious 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you create!
When everyone jumped may have been the best part of the movie! And it’s not like those of us who’d read the book didn’t know what was coming. LOL
I took my little stepbrother (9th grader) to the midnight showing and we ended up hooking up with a lady from church and 8 other high schoolers. I didn’t want to embarrass him with a picture in the theater (which I had planned had we sat by ourselves). So I took a picture of us in my car when we got home at 3:30 a.m. I like how it shows our tired faces.
that’s awesome Jody, great idea!
Hi kelli…great pages! I too have an Android and I’ve been looking for an instagram type app. I am wondering how you print your pictures you take with your phone. can you tell me more about this?
Thank you
Juli,
I typically email them to myself then open them in iPhoto. I then if want to print small square photos, I crop them all in square, then print them on a contact sheet. You can see Elisa Blaha’s post here on it..it’s way cool and way awesome! Hope that helps.

Beautiful, Kelli! I love your tips and thoughts too – especially the last one
I love your pages, Kelli, and all the little details. I am like everyone else crafty… I love washi tape. I figured out how to make digital washi tape and LOVE it.
oooh yay digi washi, so fabulous! 🙂
I have a question:
Does this project need to be started at the beginning of the year? Is that how the book is set up?
no you can start anytime Jenifer! Go for it, you don’t need a kit really, just grab some page protectors, take pictures, and journal, you can start today! YAY!
Thanks for sharing Jessica! And yes, I do have the Hunger Games in my album:)
Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas and inspirations. I was wondering how you print the local weather photo in most of your layouts. It looks like the weather app on my phone and I love the simplistic look. Thanks again!
