Elf on the Shelf Christmas Card
My friend Misty posted on Facebook that she created a card from her family’s Elf on the Shelf to say good bye on Christmas Eve.
I loved the idea so much I went to Pinterest to see if if I could find a fun template or wording that I could use to make one of our own.
I found a poem that I liked, but I wanted the message to include Jesus, so asked Matthew to modify it some (since he is AMAZING at rhyme).
I then downloaded a card template from Becky Higgins, added the text to a 4×6 card + a photo of our Elf from earlier in the month and had it printed at Walgreens. I’m so excited to have our Elf holding it on Christmas Eve. After that it will promptly go in my Project Life album. 🙂
Below is the message in case you want to copy it and use it for your Elf.
Merry Christmas!
Dear Elias and Adeline,
Today’s my last day, I must say good-bye.
Tonight I must go, to the North Pole I’ll fly.
But Santa will be here with gifts and good cheer, and I will be back the same time next year.
So be a good boy and girl, and take care of yourself –
remember the fun times you had with Sam the Elf.
But above all else, remember what’s true
That God sent us Jesus, a gift that never leaves you!
Love,
Sam
oh jessica this is so sweet I just love this! thank you for making my day a little bit easier!
So wonderful that you added Jesus into it. Have a Merry Christmas!
Being a total newbie, I have not a clue how this is done. Is there a tutorial somewhere on adding the pic etc.?
Yes, I’m sure you can google it. I used Photoshop Elements. 🙂 I think Ali Edwards offers some.
Out elf left a letter too. My kids were sooo sad that he had to leave that a letter helped.
My son cried on the Elf’s last day 🙁
Hi there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a
hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then
most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I
had to ask!
I am constantly on the lookout for much better methods to remove stains,
making use of items we may have onn hand.
