From 30,000 Feet
What a crazy 6 days I have had!
I’m writing from 30,000 feet right now, in clothes I have been wearing for more than 24 hours.
Awesome, right?
I’m headed home after a wonderful experience at Alt, which is a conference in Salt Lake City geared toward bloggers in the crafting/DIY/home decor/fashion world. It was my first time attending and I am so glad I did. I had such a great time with old friends (Ari, Laura, Alissa and Nish (that’s her cute new baby in the pic above)), making new ones (Melissa, Mandi and Jess), speaking on a panel (with the savvy Moriah, Liz and Nicole), connecting with tons of brands I have loved for years (like Chronicle Books, Red Envelope and Land Of Nod) and some that were new to me (like The Honest Company and Whimsy Box) and learning many blogging/business best practices. I came away so inspired and ready for 2013!
Unfortunately SLC got hit with a TON of snow right as I arrived to the airport. After numerous delays, I got out 5 hours late, but missed my connection and had to be rebooked for today. The only option was Denver to Miami to Nashville. Not ideal, but I am just grateful to be headed into the arms of my husband and kiddos. It’s hard to be away for so long. Thankfully, they did great without mama, though Matthew has warned me that the house is not the neatest it has ever been – ha!
I’m so thankful that Matthew is so incredibly supportive of ensuring that I get time away to get creatively refueled and invest in this site. It is a gift I don’t take for granted.
Do you ever get away to be inspired?
I love your passion so much…
I am extremely lucky to get away a 4 times a year to go scrapbooking for the weekend with my girlfriends at a beautiful hotel, while my hubby stays home with my 3 little ones.
Someday I’ll attend Alt Summit… 🙂
Jessica, I loved your panel! Such great advice about affiliate links. I’ve already started fixing my pins. 🙂 Thanks for all the inspiration!
Thank you for your kind words. Happy it inspired you.
Jessica,
It was so nice meeting you at Alt! I’m so glad I went and was inspired by so many talented people! I really enjoy your blog!
