Project Life Tuesday: 2013, Week One
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013. If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited four-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky one-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts.
This past weekend, I had big goals for Project Life. I am pleased that on Sunday I uploaded/sorted six weeks worth of photos and edited and printed four weeks of photos. I noticed that at the beginning of the year, I had to rely on my phone photos more than regular camera photos.
As I worked through six weeks’ of memories, I tried to keep things simple. Some weeks I was more successful than others. I just love putting photos + words together so much. 🙂
This this morning (before work) I tucked four weeks into page protectors and completed the journaling for week one (which I am going to share below). I had plans to show more layouts today, but last night I went to bed with a migraine at 7:30 and slept 10 hours, so only had time to complete one week this morning before work.
I chose to do a partial week for the first week of the year (January 1-5), then started my Sunday-Saturday routine.
I always find that the first few weeks of the year take me a bit longer to complete my spreads because I am still getting acclimated to the cards and the kit design. This year is also a bit different because all the cards are two sided.
My kit this year is Seafoam. I like the contemporary design, but already found that I was wanting more color, as I have had in past years’ kits. Adding some washi tape to my journaling cards helped. 🙂 I am looking forward to getting some of the mini kits coming this spring, which will also help infuse more color.
I used a Design A and Design F page protectors for week one.
You’ll notice my date card is blank- that’s because my black ink pad was bone dry! I’ll get a new one this weekend and go back and add the date.
I love how the second page turned out. The photos in row 2 and 3 are all phone photos. They aren’t super crisp, but that’s okay. The family quote in the bottom row I have had in my stash forever. I thought it worked perfect on that black and white card!
The handwriting journaling card is from the Wellington Childhood Kit. I think my album will be peppered with cards from these kits throughout the year.
Favorite Project Life pages to check out this week:
I’m going to start something new for Project Life Tuesday. Each week I am going to share a few links to some favorite layouts worth checking out. Fun, right?
This week, you gotta check out Elsie Larson’s pages. I’m so excited to see her participating. Love her creativity.
I also loved seeing all the inspiration from Becky Higgins’ creative team. Very fun.
How are you doing on Project Life? I look forward to seeing your layouts!
Those pages are beautiful Jessica!! I cant believe you almost got 6 weeks worth of pages done in one afternoon. Great job 🙂
Ha! I wish. I got 6 weeks of photos loaded to my external hard drive. But I should have 4 weeks of pages done by tomorrow night and will work more this weekend to get caught up. I’ve never started the year so far behind, but I’m up for the challenge.
Gorgeous pages & thanks for hosting the link up! I’m new to Project Life this year, so I’m still just getting into the swing of things… but I couldn’t imagine getting that much done in such a short time! For me, it takes a couple sittings to get each week done, tho I tend to do it as it happens/the week after so I haven’t had any trouble keeping up yet! All of my photos are iphone photos for now, since I need a new camera & can’t get one yet…but it hasn’t been that much of an obstacle. Can’t wait to see the rest of your pages 🙂
love it woman! So fun! You are a gem and your pages are simple and lovely and REAL! I love sea foam! I found adding the welllington helped with that driving need to add color as well especially where our kids are concerned. love you much. I’ll upload again when I figure out time to do so.. lol
Good for you getting some 2013 pages done! This spread looks great!
Love your first week! The little handwriting card is so precious!
Lots of photos for a Nana to enjoy 🙂
Love your pages. I love the seafoam kit too. Really love the family quote, especially adding the washi tape to add some more color.
Thanks for hosting the linky each week. I know that’s a lot of work, but we do love it!
Just want to say thank you for sharing your inspiration and for hosting the links, I enjoy looking at everyone’s pages so much!
