Project Life Tuesday
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts.
This week I FINALLY got started on my 2013 album. I know, it’s February, but that’s how this year is going. I’m rolling with it.
I had literally done NOTHING prior to this weekend.
On Saturday, I created my folders system on my external hard drive for organizing all my photos (Project Life/2013/folder for each week), loaded all my memory cards’ photos & iPhone photos onto my drive and selected all the bests from each week.
Next, I loaded 52 Design A pages into a scrapbook and placed a date card in each week. (I am using the Seafoam kit this year.)
Of course, I won’t use all Design A page protectors, but since it is the type of page I use the most often, I use it as a base. Then, if I need a different type of page protector one week, I just swap out the page.
I also went ahead and inserted a few extra bits of life into my album that I have been saving for once I got started on my album.
Pictured is a Jack and the Beanstalk book Elias made at school, a self-portrait + his name (using cards from the Bridgeport Edition), and my journaling sheets from my Day in the Life on Jan. 31. (I plan to do this once a month this year. Thanks to Ali Edwards for the inspiration.)
If you don’t have this list of 100 bits of life to insert into your Project Life album, I definitely recommend printing it.
This week I plan to stamp the dates on ALL the cards (I have found this is way easier than having to do it each week), sketch out each layout from the past 6 weeks, get the photos developed, print my oversized prints at home and start to get caught up. Next week plan on seeing several completed layouts. I’m so excited to get started. I can’t believe this is my 5th year doing Project Life.
Can’t wait to see your pages!
I love how organized you are and how you are not panicking about starting late or being behind. It seems like you have a great workflow going. Can’t wait to see your finished weeks!!
I’ve been behind before and I’ll get behind again. It always works out. 🙂
Love the idea of adding the kid’s self-portrait and handwriting! Not sure if my teenagers will cooperate but my 4 years old will love it.
I love having a window into people’s lives through their Project Life spreads. Thank you for hosting each week.
Love your organizational style! The Seafoam kit is so pretty! That’s the same one I’m using for 2013 but I’m doing digital.
I love seeing how people prepare for their new albums. Thanks for the list, I’m putting on my list to print!
Love that I am not the only one who loves to prep their album 🙂
