Cultivate Your Child’s Creativity
We are constantly cultivating our kids creativity in our house. Art supplies are always out (and often underfoot). And while I love unstructured crafting, I also love specific projects, kits (like our monthly Kiwi Crate, pictured above), classes, etc. That’s why I am so excited to share about True Scrap Kids, an online event for crafty kids and moms.
True Scrap Kids was created by my friend Lain (a scrapbooking superstar). Seriously, the first time I met Lain was at the Relevant (now Allume) conference and I sort of geeked out. I digress…
True Scrap Kids is a fun, online, live, virtual paper crafting event geared toward boys and girls between the ages of 6-12. It includes:
- Five classes in our state-of-the-art webroom
- Two virtual make-and-take short projects
- Pre-event PJ Party
- FULL REPLAYS of all classes
- Chance to win fab prizes
I think this looks so fun if you have kids home for the summer and are looking for fun activities to do. You could do the whole event in one day, or access the replays after the event and do just one a day (you have to sign up for the event in advance, of course).
The classes are taught by top-notch instructors including former CK Hall of Famer CD Muckosky, Stephanie Ackerman of Homegrown Hospitality, Fiskars design team member Smitha Katti, Traci Reed of Sweet Shoppe Designs, and teen photographer Kinsey Ehmann. Each will teach a 20- to 30-minute class on topics ranging from custom stationery to phone photography. Each class session will include plenty of time for live Q&A with the instructors. A full class list with a link to detailed photos and descriptions can be found on the registration page.
Registration is $77 before July 15, and $97 after 7/15, however, Mom Creative readers can sign up for True Scrap Kids for just $47 through Sunday, July 14. Just use the code SUMMERFUN at checkout to immediately save $30 off the Early Bird Rate! The discount is only good through Sunday, July 14.
