Project Life Tuesday: Week 22
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited four-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky one-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. Some links are affiliate links.
This past week I HUSTLED on my Project Life album, going through and editing FIVE weeks of photos. YEOW! I only completed one layout (including journaling), but have almost all the other photos in the right page protectors, etc. My in-laws are in town for the week and my mother-in-law is just getting started on Project Life, so I think we are going to work on it together a few nights this week. We made a Michaels run last night and she picked out the Cinnamon Edition.
I’m really excited to get caught up. I find that I like the project so much more when I am working in real time. Plus, I’m chopping at the bit to start a few new projects (like Adeline’s baby album), but I need to not be so far behind on my main album.
Week 21: May 26-June 1
Pages used: Design A, We R Memory Keepers 12×12 page (with 12×6 and 3×3 slots), Design G
I used a lot of products from American Crafts’ Dear Lizzy and My Girl lines this week, as well as a few cards from the exclusive HSN Dear Lizzy add on kit that was offered this past spring. (I did not originally order this, but found a sweet reader who was willing to sell me her kit. I’m in love with it.)
I again love the large 6×12 photo on the first page. The top row of photos is all from that same night, and the bottom row are some misc. pictures, along with a piece of the wallpaper I removed from one of our bathrooms. I think it is really fun having bits like this included in my album.
The first side of the Design G insert had primarily photos from Memorial Day on it. I really like the 4×6 journaling card with the 3×3 photo + sticker on it.
The back side and last page is all photos from our trip to Wisconsin that week. I love the heart sticker and glitter thickers on the photo of Elias with my grandma, who he calls “Gigi”.
For the last page, I included more Dear Lizzy stickers, as well as a longer (folded) journaling card from the Jade kit about the weekend. You can see that I also included the 6×4 date card on this page instead of the first page.
I had only stamped the first six months of dates using the Seafoam kit, so I think I am going to now use my Jade date cards for the remainder of the album. That way I’ll still have large Seafoam cards left for when I use that kit for something else.
Your turn to link up! Also, just a friendly reminder to please remember to link back to The Mom Creative in your posts. Thank you!
Interesting that you pre-stamped the date cards, considering you use more than one kit. I actually made some week cards before 2013, and stamped just the year on them, and now regret that since I usually end up using a different card to match the rest of the spread. (Though I did use one this week!)
I do like the idea of prepping things ahead of time to make it easier, but I’m not sure that works for me since putting the spread together is mostly work that needs to happen in real time anyway…
Hey there. I primarily use one kit. This year I was going to use the Seafoam kit, but switched to Jade early on (which mixes with Seafoam really well, so it worked out). I do use multiple mini kits, but these are made to mix in with the large kits. Occasionally you will see other core kits mixed in (like Dear Lizzy this week), but those cards are usually samples I am sent or leftovers from a past year.
I find it is MUCH easier to not have to stamp each week + if I am behind, but have something I want to slip in my album for a current week, I can do it because I know right where it will go!
Great pages! I love how you journaled on the choose happiness filler card. I almost used that one this week, but didn’t think to write on it! Thanks for always hosting the link-up for us! 🙂
I really liked how the writing turned out on that card! Thanks for mentioning it.
Wow 5 weeks of photos at one go! Nice! I am in the process of using one of those WRMK page protectors, it’s really fun to see an big enlargement, which is different from most of my other spreads. Last time I used that page protector, I did sort of a mini layout inside and didn’t put a picture but I love what a great focal point it makes. The big smile you have on your face in the car brought one to mine 🙂 You just all look so happy!
