Project Life: Week 23 and 24
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited four-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky two-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts.
I am so happy that I completed four weeks of layouts this past week, making me basically caught up (although with Elias’s birthday party in less than 2 weeks, I’m probably going to get behind again!). I am going to share two of them this week.
Common theme: Focus on photos + words. Not a lot of fancy extras because I was laser focused on getting caught up.
Week 23: June 2-8
Pages used: Design A, Design I and J (Small Variety Pack 1), 5 x 7 Page Protector
This week had a lot of photos because it included the baby shower I threw for my sister.
The first page is all photos from the shower itself. I love the instagram on the date card.
The 5×7 insert is the invitation. On the backside, I wrote all about the shower. I love the little ticket I added to the cardstock.
The Design I insert is pretty standard. All the photos are phone photos. (Click here to follow me on Instagram.)
The Design J insert has more Instagrams.
I wrote directly on the photos in this insert using an American Crafts Slick Writer.
I really like how this looks. (Recently I have found a lot of American Crafts products at TJMaxx, including Thickers and Slick Writers, so be sure to look for them. The prices are amazing, like $1.49 for Thickers!)
The last Design A page has a few more photos from Wisconsin, plus some shots that Matthew took of the kids.
Week 24: June 9-15
Pages used: Design A, Design H (Small Variety Pack 1)
I kept this week SUPER simple. All the photos on the first page are from our first sprinkler run of the summer. Love, love, love them!
Since I was out of Design I page protectors, I made do with a Design H insert. This was a great exercise for me since I didn’t realize I was out of the page protectors until I had printed the pictures. 🙂 I mounted my 4×4 pics of a 6×4 grid card to stabilize it and make it work in the 6×4 slot. It also gave me enough room to journal. I really love how this insert turned out.
For the last page, I divided it into two columns. The left column is about filming our Bloom study and the right is hodge podge of other photos from the week.
Project Life posts worth checking out
Did you see this video of the new products at Archivers?
Once again, Nita’s pages are perfection. Love all the text on the photos.
One Happy Mama’s video series of her daughter’s life album that she has created is so worth the watch. Very inspiring.
Your turn to link up! Also, just a friendly reminder to please remember to link back to The Mom Creative in your posts. Thank you!
I’m not a Project Life-er, but I love your Tuesday posts. I read each week and love to see your dedication to preserving family memories. 🙂 That’s all!
Thanks so much. I once had someone tell me that they always skip my Tuesday posts since they don’t scrapbook, so it’s nice to hear that not everyone does this. 🙂
LOVE your pages, girl! You take so many great photos! I feel like I need to take MORE! Thanks so much for mentioning my videos! I appreciate it! I can’t wait to see your baby girl album one day!
Hugs!
Thanks, Kristina. YES to getting that baby girl album done. 🙂
Thanks for the motivation to get another layout posted today, Jessica! Even with a million and five moving boxes waiting to be unpacked. 😉
you are so kind…again ;). Love. love project life in this blogging world.
i…spy…ME!
How fun to see your Bloom page; I mean, Elias and Adeline are my favorites, but that was an unexpected surprise.
(xo)
Of course you would be included! 🙂
I need to get brave and write right on the photos, that technique looks great on your pages Jessica!
