Project Life Tuesday: BIG Giveaway
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited five-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky two-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. Some links are affiliate links.
I don’t have any completed pages to share today because that was not my focus this weekend. Instead, I focused on catching up on my photos.
I first selected my photos week by week and planned out my pages. Planning my pages really helps make things go quickly once I get my photos. I simply sketch out the various page protectors I am going to use (Design A
After planning the pages, I then edited the photos and got them developed at Walgreens Sunday afternoon. That evening, I inserted the photos into the pages while hanging out with Matthew.
This week I plan to add my journaling cards in and wrap up the pages. I’ll keep it simple, which is one of the many aspects I love about Project Life. I’ll certainly have lots to share next week!
It is such a good feeling to have all those photos done! I haven’t been *this* caught up in awhile.

First I LOVE the idea of using a notebook to organize your pictures/layouts. I use sticky notes and this last time they transferred to all over the place before I could get the pictures in!

I’ve used a PL kit recently for family heritage photos my aunt brought when moving in with us. It gave us a way of enjoying them in a book and having her journal…. While taking pressure off me to hurry up and traditional scrap to capture the memories. I was on fence with PL life before that at my stage of life but enjoyed it so much that I would like to do current life next year for sure

I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing PL for a while now, this would be the perfect opportunity to stop thinking and start doing.
ironically, i’m doing a week with two inserts currently and trying to find photos and cardstock that i’m needing in the midst of boxes still hanging around from our move this summer. so feel the need to organize a bit!
What perfect timing for this post! I only have a few pages done of my 2012 PL, which I intended to do digitally and have printed as a photobook, as I did with 2011 and am planning to do for 2013. But lately I’ve been wondering if, in the spirit of “get the pictures onto the page,” doing it in physical form might be a better plan. With digital I get wrapped up in so many extra design issues that I didn’t worry about when I did my first PL using a PL kit and album. Anyways! Thanks for the great, inspiring shot of your layout notebook – if I do this I think it will be best to go through the entire year the way you’ve modeled and then have all my 2012 pics printed at once. And of course if I did win this giveaway I’ll have a PL kit to get started with! Thanks as always for hosting the link up as well!

I’d love to win a kit to start going back in time and making some books for previous years. I think I’ll make it through 2013! Woohoo! I reached a new level at Costco yesterday when I picked up my photos for my Project Life album and she handed me BOX. Yes, a BOX. Not an envelope but a box. I am catching up with photos since the end of May so there were a lot of photos to have printed. Also, love the print feature in Lightroom because I throw 9 isntagrams or other 12×12 prints so that I can cut them later. I also love combining 4×3 prints into 4x6s, especially when my printer is acting up like it is now! 🙂

I’m loving how PL makes it so easy to keep up with documenting not only the big events — birthdays, holidays, vacations — but also the everyday things. Your post today describes the simplest approach starting with the pictures and then filling in around them with cards, especially the journaling cards to “tell the story”. Although I’ve had fun making my own cards so far, it would be so cool to own a proper core kit. Thank you for the give-away.

I’m SO excited as I am trying to really be faithful and do a whole year of Project Life this year. I am currently behind, but plugging along every week and I am really enjoying it this year. I watch lots of videos and do alot of reading about Project Life and how to improve my skills

We are in the process of becoming licensed to be foster parents and our agency asks us to keep a lifebook for each kid that comes into your home. I love that the project life books are perfect for documenting important parts of these children’s lives so they have an idea of what happened in their childhoods, even if they haven’t been at home!
Winning a kit would be great so that I could make an album for my mom for Christmas! We just lost my grandmother and I want to put all of her photos in a Project Life style album so that my mom can have them out and look at them instead of storing them in boxes in the garage.
I am so glad I got motivated to start Project Life again, I forgot how much fun it is.

I would love to win this kit so that I can document my three kids lives much better than the way I have been doing it. I think it would be an easier system for me to follow and do consistently. I just started using Project Life and don’t have a lot of it, so this would be perfect for me to have more of a selection to get me going.

Catching up on photos is half the battle with keeping on top of PL. I totally consider that working on PL. Glad you were able to work on it a bit. I have several weeks of just the photos in place but it makes me happy to see that I’ve got things mapped out even if I have to go back and finish it up. I had the second part of our trip up North, in MI, that I hoped to post today but my weekends have been so busy that even though I have stuff done I didn’t have time to photograph the pages post. I love how easy PL is to put together… Everything matches, and I can leave it simple if I want, or I can go all out and dress it up. I managed to get all of 2011 done in a few sittings, and I need to catch up 2012, so a new kit would really help with that!

I have been doing it every year since the original creating keepsakes version came out and would love to win my kit for next year.
