Project Life Tuesday
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited five-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky two-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. Some links are affiliate links.
Week 36: September 1-7, 2013
Pages used: Design A, Design H and Design G
This weekend I was able to mostly catch-up on my photos for Project Life. I just have two weeks left in October to process– yay!
I was only able to totally complete one layout though. I stuck with Project Life’s truest style – just photos, journaling cards and words.
For the first spread I used Design A and Design H. All the photos in the spread were from labor day and I was able to use one journaling card (cheerful day) to describe all the images. I could have added some additional journaling spots directly on the photos, but I was all about getting the photos in the album and moving on! The photos speak for themselves anyways. You can’t go wrong with zoo and pool photos!
On the back of Design H are simply more photos. I love the bottom left picture. In photoshop I edited 3 photos of Adeline to 2×6 to make the mini collage of her pouting because she didn’t get her way. She kills me!
Then, for the first side of Design G insert, I split it in half – the top photos are of Adeline and the bottom are from when our friends Brian and Chris visited for the weekend. (Side story – Chris and I have been friends since we were 15! We went to rival high schools, but then both went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He moved west to Arizona, where he worked for Xyron for many years (my favorite adhesive company). He also was in our wedding. He is so dear to me.)
The back is all photos from going out with Brian and Chris Saturday night. I love the bottom pictures of the guys all drinking frozen lemonade out of guitar shaped glasses – only in Nashville.
On the last page are some photos of my friend Katie, as well as just some around the house/life photos. I love the cropped Instagram of Elias with his dead praying mantis that he took to school for show ‘n tell. Love that kid. ☺
Inspirational as always!!!! Our school district has a craft day where people can come and set up a table and work on projects all day! I am going to get my son’s first 2 1/2s book done that day. It will feel SO good!!!! (He just turned 9).
I love that you have a guy friend from way back! I too have a friend I’ve known since sixth grade and he was in our wedding (and is our son’s godfather too!). It is wonderful to have friends who knew you before YOU even knew who you would become!!!
Yes, having old, old friends is the best. I am so thankful to have several from my tween/teen years.
Me too 🙂 Comes from growing up in a small Wisconsin town I think? Or at least that’s the case for me.
My local Michaels has all Becky Higgins products on sale 40% off today through Saturday.
YEOW!
That’s such a cool story about you & Chris! I hope you included the journaling in your spread so years and years from now your kids will know why that guy was included in your spread. 🙂
Years and years from now Mr. Chris will be at my kids’ weddings. 🙂
That’s wonderful that you got to spend time with such a good and long lasting friend. I have stayed in touch and remained friends with many of my childhood friends, but in many cases we are continents apart.
Love the pouting collage. My boys freak out when I take pictures of their fits, but it’s hard to resist.
