5 Gifts that Could Save a Life
With Christmas around the corner, I decided to create this gift guide of useful gifts that could save a life. In the past, I’ve never considered these kinds of gifts. However, research shows that sometimes people choose to not invest in these products, or they don’t have alarms in enough places in the homes, so giving these gifts is incredibly helpful.
Working with Kidde this year has been life-changing because I have become so much more safety minded when it comes to fires and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Before this partnership, I never really had fire and CO safety at the forefront of my mind. Now I am incredibly aware of it – both in my own home and in the homes of loved ones.
What better gift to give a loved one than the peace of mind that they would have the tools they needed if a fire broke out in their home or carbon monoxide were to hit?
Here are 5 Gifts that Could Save a Life:
- Worry free smoke alarms: Kidde’s Worry-Free Smoke Alarms have a ten-year, sealed-in battery so you don’t have to ever replace it for the life of the alarm. Kidde offers a whole suite of alarms that have location-based features for the kitchen, bedroom, living areas, and hallways.
- Carbon monoxide alarms: Kidde’s worry-free carbon monoxide alarms also offer a ten-year, sealed-in battery and are the longest life CO alarm available (40% longer than the competition).
- Fire extinguisher: If a small fire breaks out in your home and you have the right type of fire extinguisher within reach, you may be able to stop the fire. That’s why having fire extinguishers throughout your home is so important. But always remember that if a fire breaks out in your home, the main goal is a safe escape. Fire extinguishers should only be used to keep small, contained fires from growing, and only if the fire department has already been notified.
- Safety ladder: Kidde safety ladders are fantastic! Available for two- and three- story homes, they have strong and durable construction, with an easy-to use, tangle-free design. The rungs are anti-slip and ladders are tested to 1,000 pounds.
- A plan: This is probably the most important item on this list. Have a conversation with your loved ones about creating a fire escape plan.
The gift of safety is one of the kindest gifts you can give someone. Merry Christmas!
