It is such a delight to share my friend Angie’s latest project, For Such a Time as This: Stories of Women from the Bible, Retold for Girls. This a book that every home with girls should have in it – and frankly, boys will love the stories and illustrations too. (Read on to win an autographed copy!)

The book was illustrated by the talented Breezy Brookshire, who also illustrated Angie’s Audrey Bunny (another favorite book in our home).

ReadingForSuchaTimeLast week, Angie’s publisher threw a release party for the book (thanks to my friend Kristen for sending me the above and below photos).

During the party Angie read a story, while Breezy walked around sharing the book with the little ones that were there.

It was a joy to celebrate with Angie.

Adeline is in love with For Such a Time as This. She loves talking about the biblical characters. The illustrations throughout the book are exquisite. We are slowly reading through the book, taking it all in.

  5. I have been following this book launch with great excitement! I have two daughters, ages 4 1/2 and almost 6, who are in that tender/sponge stage where they soak everything up! They are also book lovers (like their mom) and would love the beautiful illustrations and portrayals of the important women in the Bible that isn’t always mentioned in their kids Bibles. Thanks for doing this giveaway! We always love Angie’s works!

  42. Unfortunately, I have 3 teen-aged sons, I doubt they would read this book & enjoy its illustrations. 🙁
    Fortunately, I have a couple young friends pregnant with sweet baby girls! This would be an adorable book to tuck into a gift basket.

  43. hi, What a great giveaway!!
    who would i give the book to? Well…I have 2 16yo twin girls that i could (if they didn’t think they were too old for it. lol) I have a baby granddaughter (and her 2yo brother ) that i would keep the book for and read it to them. (or let her take it home. )
    Also…there is our associate pastor and his wife who have a 4 yo little girl, it would bless them immensely, i’m sure. they are always reading to their kids.
    and I have a couple of friends who have little girls that I could gift the book to.
    Hmmm…thinking i need to buy a few copies, whether i win one or not.
    looking forward to reading it.

  48. I am so excited about this book. ‘Audrey Bunny’ was wonderful, a beautiful story and elaborate illustrations. I would gift this book to my three children who all love to read about Jesus and ‘his friends’. 🙂
