Our Family: Right Now
It’s been awhile since I have done an update post about our family. After a two year hiatus, I am gearing up to get back into Project Life and think this would be a perfect post to put straight in our family album.
Elias
Reading: So much reading this summer! Favorite books include The Treehouse Books, Dangerous Book for Boys and his lego encyclopedias.
Watching: Anything Food Network or Super Hero
Playing: He loves riding his scooter and building legos. He also loves games, especially Tenzi and Uno. He is also big into trading football cards and loves organizing his 3″ binder.
Summering: Summer camps this year included an outdoor camp, two art camps and lego camps. He also is now swimming like a fish and can’t get enough of the pool. Days not spent at camp have been filled with playing with his bestie Noah (our neighbor).
Other notes: Elias is such a good big brother. He is patient with Adeline and Ezra. He loves playing games with the family and snuggling for family movie nights.
Adeline
Reading: Anything princess related. She especially loves the Pinkalicious books lately.
Watching: My Little Ponies, Lego Friends, Sofia, Lalaloopsy and Angelina Ballerina
Playing: She loves playing with her Barbies and Itty Bitties. She is also ALWAYS singing and coloring.
Summering: Lots of time keeping up with Elias in the yard. She also loves the pool and has gotten over her fear of jumping in.
Other notes: Adeline is our feeler and emotions swing high with her. She is full of zeal and passion every day. It has been fun watching her embrace learning this summer in kindergarten boot camp at day care. She is doing SO well with her writing and sight words. Next week is her big pre-K graduation and I’m sure I will cry.
Ezra
Reading: Ezra loves reading books and can often be found pulling books out of the board book basket in the living room. His favorites are the ones with animal pictures.
Watching: Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – it’s so funny how much he loves these shows.
Playing: He loves to ROAR like a dinosaur, lion, bear or any other creature that makes a similar sound.
Summering: Being in the sandbox or running around on the deck is his favorite. He also is moving very quickly with push toys and riding toys, especially his cow wheelie bug and his lawn mower.
Other notes: Ezra is SO busy. He is constantly trying to keep up with everyone else, but is also good at playing independently. He is a great eater and willing to try pretty much everything. After two picky eaters, I’m grateful for a little foodie.
Matthew
Reading: The Passage and Originals
Watching: Stranger Things on Netflix
Playing: Matthew’s continues to carve on a daily basis, and his whimsical houses are amazing. He averages 1-2 a week!
Summering: Matthew has spent lots of time this summer with Elias, as his schedule has allowed for that flexibility when Elias didn’t have camp. They have had a great time. He also went to Wild Goose a few weeks ago and it was good to get away with friends.
Other notes: Matthew has started pursuing photography professionally and it has been fun to see him getting booked frequently and using his talents. I’m so proud of him.
Jessica
Reading: I have been big into audio books this summer. My favorite was Lilac Girls. I am in the middle of reading Enchanted Islands right now and in between audio books.
Watching: I fell behind on Outlander, so have been catching up on the end of season two.
Playing: I’ve been taking a freestyle calligraphy class this summer and am enjoying practicing my letters. I have also been getting my craft room cleaned up from all the party craziness of the summer and picking paint colors. Ready for it to be completed by the fall.
Summering: I’ve loved being at the pool with the kids and tackling our summer bucket list. I have a writing retreat planned for this coming weekend and I’m looking forward to starting my next big writing project (have you taken the survey for it yet?)
Other notes: Life has been incredibly busy lately. I’ve been stretched a little too thin. I’m looking forward to a more normal routine with school starting in two weeks!
