I finished. Why it’s been a hard month.
This morning I woke up with a huge sigh of relief. Yesterday, I turned in my edits on my new book, which releases in September.
I haven’t talked about it much here, mostly because it feels strange to talk about something that is coming out so far from now, but the reality is that it has consumed much of my spare time for the past nine months.
Writing a book while working a full-time job, blogging, parenting, and well, just living is as hard as it seems. I also had to have an unexpected surgery at the beginning of January (post about it next week), which made things even more challenging. My house still has Christmas decorations up. There’s a basket of stuff in my room that has been sitting there since summer. Piles are everywhere. I’m mentally exhausted.
You’ve seen me a bit on Instagram and Facebook, but if you have visited this blog you might have noticed it’s been quiet. I’ve missed it here. For 12 years, The Mom Creative has been a place to chat about all the things. I remember blogging about what diapers to use when I had Elias. I’ve written about my struggles with body image. I’ve shared awesome deals to make life easier. I’ve poured my heart into this site, constantly thinking about you the reader and what might be interesting and helpful.
But lately, those words have gone to my manuscript. Know that though the words weren’t here, I was thinking of you. I was writing my best work, with stories and advice I’ve never shared.
Thank you for being a part of this community. Thank you for coming back and for cheering me on. Your DMs, comments and emails have lifted me up on days that I wanted to sit and cry.
Next week I will be back to blogging at a much more consistent pace. I have so much fun stuff planned for the next month. Stories about every day life. New adventures. Renewed hobbies (I’m doing Project Life again). Join me, okay? I’ve missed you.
I’m so glad you’re doing Project Life again. I started following you because of Project Life.
I have missed it SO much! I’m excited too.
I want to start doing Project Life! I have scrapbooked before and got away and need to get back into it! Can’t wait to follow your Project Life! Provide lots of tips for a newbie 🙂
I just ordered my 2017 through the Project Life App. It is so easy and took half the time as the paper/plastic page protector method I have done in the past.
Same here!!! So glad you are starting again!
Thank you!
We all have crazy seasons in our lives. My crazy season is still going so I noticed you weren’t posting but I hoped you were all doing well.
I think I’m a little late to the party, but just finished “The Fringe Hours”. Loved it. Excited to discover more on here with you!
Thank you so much for your kind words.
I smiled at today’s message. I too have a very large basket of “stuff” that’s been sitting in my room since at least summer. I’m sort of doing project life. I’m doing my photo a day for a year project again this year. I spent this weekend organizing it and gaining direction as I did the first couple of weeks of photos. I did the project in ’09 and in ’13. They are some of my favorite scrapbooks to look at.
I look in the basket and I think, I should just throw it all away. Who am I kidding? I have several baskets in my house that feel like that. 🙂
