  1. Hi, Jessica
I wanted to determine if your book “Stretched Too Thin” will be the right fit for me. I have followed your blog and have gathered that you thrive best when engaged in lots of activity (work, blog, family). I believe based on what you’ve posted that you have the personality and mindset that works best in this way. I, on the other hand, do not have the mindset or personality that can handle too much at once. I also honestly just do not have the energy for it. By next year, I will need to move from part-time work to full-time work due to finances. My kids are 7 and 13. I have struggled with health issues which have limited my abilities. Regardless of where I am at in a year physically, I have to move to full-time work. I work as an early childhood educator which is challenging physically. So, I am truly worried about handling full-time work and remaining an engaged, happy parent, wife and woman. I lean towards perfectionism but the reality is that as a preschool teacher, the work can’t be just completed at school. The need to provide child-centered learning means that I can’t plan a lesson and implement it. Every day is different and I need to flow with the needs and interests of the kids requiring lots of last minute preparations, etc. I am worried about having boundaries and also knowing my own skill set. I am slow and methodical in my research and preparation for the classroom. So, ultimately I share a lot of this to determine if your book will provide enough practical advice for someone who isn’t able to work fast, doesn’t thrive on juggling lots of balls, has minimal energy and whose work isn’t as easily self-contained to the work day. 🙂 Thanks for any insight you can provide!
