Prime Day 2019 Tips
Amazon Prime Day is coming! After several years of curating all the best deals and following this sales closely, I’ve rounded up 10 tips to prepare for Amazon Prime Day.
Mark Your Calendar
Most importantly, put Amazon Prime Day on your Calendar. When is Amazon Prime Day? Amazon Prime Day is a two-day celebration on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16. We will be sharing the best deals of Prime Day here on The Mom Creative, so be sure to follow this site closely that day, as well as on Facebook and Instagram.
Join Amazon Prime
Yes, anyone can shop Amazon on Prime Day, but exclusive offers and lower prices on some items will be offered exclusively for Amazon Prime customers. If you are not a Prime member, you can sign up for a 30-day FREE trial, which will allow you to take advantage of all the deals and not pay a cent. If you find Prime isn’t right for you, you can easily cancel the membership.
Take Advantage of Early Amazon Prime Day Deals Now
Amazon has already started rolling out some deals now, including:
Get 3 months of unlimited kindle reading for FREE (Kindle Unlimited offers more than 1.4 million books + all the nation’s best magazines + tens of thousands of audio books. Get it for absolutely free for 3 months – the best deal of Prime Day!)
Get 3 months of Audible for $4.95 a month (This is my absolute favorite deal! Audible is regularly $14.95 a month, so this is a killer deal if you haven’t tried it yet. New customers only.)
Get 4 months of Amazon Unlimited Music for 99 cents (We are long-time fans on Amazon Unlimited Music and use it every single day at home, at work, and in the car.)
Follow Me on Social Media
Prime Day is one of my FAVORITE shopping experiences of the year, so you can bet I am going to share all the best stuff with you. My virtual assistant and I have already been looking at past years and preparing for how to share things to the best of our ability. Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so that you don’t miss a thing. Some deals we might share exclusively on social media because things move so fast! If there are deals you are hoping to see, be sure to leave a comment and let me know.
Download the Amazon App
If you don’t have the Amazon App, download it to get notifications of items on your watchlist, great deals and more. As a bonus, if you have never downloaded the app, you will get a $10 credit to use on any purchase of $20 or more.
Make a List
Amazon Prime Day is a great opportunity to buy things you need, as well as get a jump start on Christmas shopping, and stock up on birthday gifts and essentials. It can be very easy to impulse buy on Prime Day, so having a list is helpful. I have a written list of things to look for, as well as added items to my Amazon list to make it easy to see the best sales. A bonus to using the list function on Amazon: Amazon will notify you when items on your list go on sale.
Prepare for Lightening Deals
As part of your preparation, bookmark this page for Lightning Deals so you are ready for Prime Day. Then during the sale, click on “UPCOMING DEALS” (located in the middle of the page) to see what times items will be on sale that you don’t want to miss. If you find something you want, add it to your cart to save yourself a step when the deal goes live.
Miss a Deal? Sign Up for the Waitlist
If something sells out fast, don’t hesitate to sign up for the waitlist. I’ve been surprised before when I have gotten a deal after the fact!
Use Alexa for Early Deals
Amazon is offering customers that shop with devices powered by Alexa (like the Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show) can get access to select deals from 7pm – 9pm EST on Prime Day. Yep, you can shop with your voice. You can also download the Alexa app on your phone.
Earn Savings with Slower Shipping
Amazon Prime gets you FREE 2-Day Shipping, but if you select “No Rush Shipping” you will get a $5.95 Credit to be used toward Prime Pantry orders. I love getting this discount.
