Great recommendations! I’d also recommend the keeper of the lost cities series, the land of stories series and fablehaven.
My 13 year has long loved John Grisham’s Theodore Boone series, he waits for the new one to drop every year. He’s been reading them for years now and absolutely loves the investigative plots. Funny story, a few years ago we were driving on a road that was being expanded and he explained to us about eminent domain, I am pretty sure he was about 10 at the time. We were shocked he knew that term, used it correctly and was able to explain to us because he learned it from Theodore Boone. Who knew?
