Best Christmas Gift Tracking Apps & Tools
I polled thousands of women on how they track their Christmas gift buying and gifting. Here are their top answers of the best Christmas gift tracking apps and tools.
I am someone who shops for Christmas gifts for months, so keeping track of what I have bought is critical to me not overbuying. When I asked on Instagram how others tracked gifts, I got a huge variety of answers. Below are the most common responses of the top ways that women track Christmas gift shopping and buying.
Pen and paper
Some people prefer to keep it simple with an old fashioned pen and paper. Whether it is a dedicated notebook or a simple list pad, writing it down is a tried and true tracking method that has been around for generations.
Christmas Binder
A more sophisticated version of the pen and paper method is a dedicated Christmas binder, which includes gift lists, recipes, calendars, etc.
Phone Note
Many people prefer the digital method of pen and paper – using the notes app on their phone. This is a convenient method because the notes app is always with you.
Excel/Google spreadsheet
This has historically been the way I have tracked gifts. I make a tab for each year, list everyone I buy for and record the gifts. I like the tabs because I can see what I bought year after year.
Christmas Gift Apps
Apps are a popular way to track Christmas gifts. Here are a few top free Christmas gift apps to use for tracking your gifting.
- Christmas Gift List Tracker: This is by far the most popular gift list tracking app and the one I am trying out this year. It has thousands of five-star reviews. I love that you can add your contacts, include photos of the items you have bought/are buying and that you can export list of what you have bought to print.
- The Christmas Gift List: This is another popular app, which I downloaded to check out. While the design is a bit prettier than the Christmas Gift List Tracker, the Tracker has more functionality and I think an easier interface.
- Santa’s Bag: Amongst my followers, this was the most commonly mentioned app. It has similar functionality to the others listed, but it places more of an emphasis on buying within the app, which I didn’t like. I did like that it offered syncing gift lists from places like Amazon.
