Easy and Fun LEGO Party
Host a LEGO birthday party that doesn’t take a lot of time to put together and is incredibly fun with these simple ideas.
For my son’s 8th birthday party, we decided to throw a LEGO party, but keep it really simple. Here’s what we did.
LEGO Invitation
I found this invitation on Etsy and it was easy to customize and fit perfectly with the theme.
LEGO tshirts
I bought these LEGO tshirts at Target but they are no longer available. You can find a huge selection on Amazon.
LEGO Party Decorations
You can find LEGO party decorations at all major retailers. Some Dollar Tree’s also carry LEGO decor. I kept it easy with this kit from Amazon.
I also recommend buying primary color balloons and filling them with a helium tank. So festive and easy.
I always love to have a dedicated photo spot. I bought LEGO wrapping paper and hung it on the wall. This LEGO backdrop is a great alternative.
LEGO Games
For the party, we booked a foam machine for the kids to enjoy, so we only needed a few simple games to fill out the rest of the party.
Game 1: Build the tallest LEGO tower in five minutes. We took LEGO pieces that we had and spread them across a table. This was awesome because kids just naturally sat and built with the LEGO pieces. We did the little competition and everyone had so much fun.
Game 2: Guess how many LEGO pieces are in the jar. We filled a huge jar with LEGO pieces and then every child guessed how many were in it. They had a blast guessing.
Game 3: LEGO Spoon Game – We had the kids form two lines and each line had a bin of LEGO pieces. One at a time, the kids used a spoon to scoop LEGO pieces and carried them down a line to dump into an empty bin. To win, have the fullest bin at the end of two minutes!
FOAM FUN: Though not a game, the foam machine we rented was sooooo much fun for the kids. Most of the kids had never seen one before and it was an absolute blast. My biggest recommendation is to make sure kids have goggles and footwear!
Once the foam got going, it got high and in the kids’ faces. Having goggles made a huge difference.
LEGO Birthday Cake
My son wanted an ice cream cake, so it gave it a LEGO vibe by building an 8 out of LEGO pieces + using LEGO candles. It was perfect. You can easily do this with any number. It was an affordable and fun cute element for the cake.
This LEGO party was so fun and easy. Just a reminder that you don’t have to go crazy with a theme for it to not be special and memorable.
Where did you find the large cutouts of Lego people? Did I miss that link? I thought I clicked on each one, but have searched before for the Lego cutouts…
My son’s elementary school let me borrow them. Aren’t they fun!?
