The Tortured Poets Department Painted Records DIY for Listening Party
For the release of Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department, we are having a listening party with a few of my daughter’s friends.
I wanted to prepare a little craft for them to do while they listen and I came up with painted records. I found some old records at the thrift store for 25 cents which were perfect! I made one in advance and here is my supply list and a few tips.
Record Painting Supplies
If you want to paint records while listening to the new The Tortured Poets Department album, you only need a few supplies. You probably have them on hand.
Records (old and scratched are perfect!)
Old magazines
Tips for painting records
If you are using acrylic paint, the label will require a lot of coats of paint. Just be patient about it.
Keep it simple – anything goes.
Mod Podge is perfect for adding words or letters. Be sure to coat the whole record in Mod Podge for an even finish.
Sharpie works great for writing on the label. Paint pens are another good option.
This craft is so simple and easy. I absolutely love how mine turned out and can’t wait for the girls to make theirs on Friday.
