Inspiration and catch up
You may remember that I vowed to get caught up on my scrapbooking not too long ago… well I have slacked a bit. 🙂 I have been decopaging a lot lately, which is terribly fun, but hasn’t helped me get any closer to my goal of catching up on my family scrapbook albums. Yikes. Maybe the start of a new month will help kick me into gear. My new goal is to get caught up by Thanksgiving. It is always fun to show my scrapbook off at the holidays, and the holidays always mean LOTS of photos, so that’s a double reason to get caught up.
Making Memories had this huge contest called the Making Memories Idol. More than 1,000 people entered. (I was not one of them.) Check out the top 20 entries here. They are amazing. Such talent and such diversity – literally these designers are from all over the world. I love it.
Scrap Etc. just announced The 2007 Event, its second annual scrapbook weekend conference experience. I really want to attend, but don’t know if it will fit in the Turner budget for ’07. It looks unreal. I have had the pleasure of speaking with Monique, owner of Scrap Etc. a few times, and she is a gift. She is actually going to be passing through Nashville this weekend, and Matthew and I are going to meet up with her for dinner, along with a few of her designers and her hubby, Jeremiah. Monique and I have a mutual affection from Mercy Ministries and scrapbooking – we’re kindred spirits already!
All of this scrapbook talk has me itching to scrap, so that’s what I am going to do, since I have the day off. I will try to post my creation (a fun little book of the Lovell ladies) when it is complete.
