A Prayer for Balance
At this moment, I am a bit overwhelmed. And since I am horrible at journaling, I turn to this blog, and all of you (lucky you).
Work right now is incredibly busy. I love being BUSY – as in, I started using a planner in fourth grade (it was Baby Sitters Club and VERY cool). In college my family and friends would say you need to take a day and not do anything. Just relax. Never did it. I don’t think it is a part of my DNA. All that to say, I am invigorated by all the work I have to accomplish – a collection of diverse client projects, deadlines, responsibilities – but, I am also a bit overwhelmed.
Why I think I feel overwhelmed is that this is only the third weekend I have felt like myself since being pregnant (meaning – I have energy and don’t need three naps in one day and I am not puking all the time) and what I really want to do is clean my house, organize the stack of paperwork that needs to be filed (it is a BIG stack), run errands, etc. Those things will likely not happen because I will be working for a good chunk of the weekend and volunteering at Mercy- and I will be working late all week, so they won’t happen this week. I am out of town for work the following week and in New Orleans that weekend visiting my friend Colleen. So, we are looking at the first week of March, people, before my house has a chance of receiving a thorough cleaning. YIKES. And that’s just the housework – the tip of the iceberg. 🙂
All of that to say, please pray for endurance, peace and balance amidst this busy time. The first verse of the bible I ever memorized was “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Phil 4:13) That verse has gotten me through many seasons such as this.
If busyness is your story right now, I pray that you too will remember that the Lord will give you strength to accomplish what is before you.
I love your heart, baby. And I love that our sink isn’t dripping any longer–thanks to that awesome plumber you married. Haha!
xoxo
Thank you for this! This helped me today to put my life in perspective.
