Mom and Dad’s Visit
Mom and Dad arrived safely from Wisconsin Thursday night. They helped Matthew and I so much!! I was on bed rest Friday-Sunday, so I couldn’t do much more than direct from the couch, but my goodness were they amazing. Elias’ room is completely done and ready (I will post pictures tomorrow.)
Mom is an organizing queen and she got all my closets in order, which was quite the task. We were able to get rid of so much! I laid on the bed and Mom held up every article of clothing that I have and I said Goodwill or keep for each one. 🙂 She also did a ton of cleaning and general help with getting everything ready for Elias.
My Dad put together Elias’ crib, built shelving for a new craft closet (to replace my scrapbooking room space that is now Elias’ room), hung two new ceiling fans and a lot of things on the walls and just did a lot of little home improvement tasks.
Matthew took control of our storage closet and purged and organized for hours. He also helped Mom and Dad as much as he could.
I was able to help a little (like folding baby clothes), but not a whole lot. I am thrilled with how much they helped get done and feel like if Elias came today, we would be in good shape.
Matthew and I are so thankful for my Mom and Dad. They are so excited about being grandparents and their love for little Eli, as well as us, is such a blessing. We love you Mom and Dad!

Lee & I enjoyed talking with your parents this weekend! They are super sweet and funny 🙂 I’m so glad you all were able to have a great (and productive!) time together! I’m sure Elias will LOVE his new room!
WHAT SWEET PARENTS!!! You are so lucky to have them and I’m so glad they got a TON done! Sounds like you guys are set!
Jess,
The room looks great! I think that is so special that you are using a part of you for Eli….it looks wonderful!
So how’s the “Freddie” feet? I hope the week-end ‘down’ was a big help.
Eli is so blessed to have grandparents that love him, even before he has arrived. He will be greatly loved & cared for.
Enjoy every little kick, you will miss them when he arrives. Take care…..Rose in Nashville
How awesome! I am sure it feels great to know that his room is in order and that you have amazing family to help! It looks fabulous!
the kids are loving him. I’m only a dog lover, all other animals I can leave. LOL. My husband on the other hand is a cat lover and Paddington had to take some serious convincing, but I think Matthew loves him more then I do! LOL And this dog is hypoallergenic and really a dream.
