"The Best" Day 1 – Elle’s Studio and Die Cuts with a View
First off, THANK YOU for stopping by today. I have been planning The Best in Baby Scrapbooking for about two months and I am so excited that the week has finally arrived and that you are here.
To those of you that are new, let me quickly introduce myself. My name is Jessica Turner. I am married to Matthew and we have a 5-month old named Elias. He rocks our world. I work full time at a fabulous marketing/pr firm in Nashville called Lovell Communications. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my sweet family and scrapbooking. My scrapbooking addiction has evolved since adding the title Mommy to my name. I now scrap simpler, but am more committed than ever to leaving a legacy for my son and his family through my scrapbooks. This week I hope to introduce you to some fabulous products that are enabling me to do this. (Disclaimer – none of these companies have paid me to feature them this week!)
Today’s featured products are Elle’s Studios and Die Cuts With A View.
A big part of baby’s first year is tracking his growth milestones. When I saw Elle’s Studios darling baby’s first year monthly tags, I knew they would make the perfect mini album. Elle’s tags are made of high-quality acid free cover-weight paper and have a contemporary design. They would also work well in a baby album, or regular scrapbook pages.
I covered all the pages using Die Cuts With a View’s Nana’s Nursery line. I LOVE the Nana’s Nursery line. Generally I am not a fan of tablet-style scrapbook paper. Usually the designs are a bit cheesy and predictable to me and I end up not using more than half of the tablet. This is definitely NOT the case with the Nana’s Nursery line. I used just about every sheet of it and could easily use another tablet. The papers are SO darling. DCWV offers both a boy and a girl line.
Here is how I combined these products into a simple album that showcases Elias’s growth every month. (You can click on the pictures to make them bigger). I need to write something in the chipboard on this first page, but am not sure what I am going to write yet… maybe the dates – July 2008-July 2009. We’ll see. I have time.
The Watch Me Grow album I designed using these featured products is a Rusty Pickle 4×12 tag album. In addition to using the tags and paper as unifying elements, you will notice that there is ric rack on every cover page for the month and a chipboard embellishment on the back of the page. It doesn’t take much to tie an album together, but little unifiers make a big difference.
Elle’s Studio and Die Cuts With a View have generously provided giveaways for today! I have a boy and a girl set (tags and Nana’s Nursery paper). Check ’em out.
Simply leave a comment on this post (be sure to indicate your preference for the prize – boy or girl). Comments will close next Monday at noon central time. If you put the button for The Best in Baby Scrapbooking on your blog/website you get a second entry in the drawing. Just be sure to also leave a comment here saying that the button is up!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for more great baby scrapbooking products and another giveaway.
oh my gosh that is so adorable… I should be ashamed of myself..Here I don’t work and am home most days by myself and do I scrap…No… I never take the time…although its all sitting right behind me. And you have done so much of your 5 month old.
Everything looks so simple, yet so pretty! Great job!
Love this idea! This is definately something I would like to do after our little boy arrives in January! Very cute way to record their oh so rapid changes and developments.
I love this mini album. I have a 9 month old and this is something I am thinking about going back and doing for him. What a cute and quick way to remember every month! 🙂
How fun! I’m expecting my first baby (boy!) and am getting some serious motivation for scrapbooking..I’ve never done it before. I would LOVE to win!
I really like the mini book idea. May try with our next one! If you pick my name, please send me the boy set!

-Janelle
I just love this!!!! I have put your button on my blog and of course left my comment 🙂 Now I’m so excited about this project that if I don’t win I’ll just have to out and get the stuff myself! I am posting a link about you today on my blog so everyone can see your wonderful scrapbooking carnival going on this week…hope you don’t mind 🙂
FABULOUS!!! Honey you are G O O D!!! I’ve taken pictures of my little boy (Bryson) every month, sometimes everyday, since his birth, March 16th, and I have yet to start a scrapbooking project for him..(I know, I know… horrible!).. This would be PERFECT to make it with!! So if I’m lucky enough to win, I’d love to have the boy set!
The paper and tags are so cute! I have a SON so I would prefer the BOY. i am so thrilled you are doing this! I am definitely stopping by each day!! 🙂
God bless!

This is beautiful!!!
I am expecting our first baby (BOY) at the end of this month and I have great intentions of scrapbooking. (We all have those intentions though, right!?) Anyway, I love the little boy items and would be delighted to win them. Thanks for offering them!
As always, you’ve made such a cute album. And I love it’s simplicity but how it all ties together. I need simple in my life as a full-time working mom too. I really do love the papers, and I haven’t found a lot of baby papers I like at all. So put me in the drawing for the Boy set. Thanks! Looking forward to tomorrow’s feature.
We have four babies coming in our family. Wouldnt it be great to win free baby products!!! Thanks for all the great ideas and giveaways!!!

Great stuff, a little boy one for me!
Your book is adorable and what a beautiful baby. I too like the Nana Nursery line, although I don’t have it. I took a class with them a few months ago and they used the line. I guess I don’t really care if it’s girl or boy. I have both to scrap, but if I had to choose I would say boy.
I love those monthly cards! your albulm looks adorable

I love your mimi album…how adorable! And I know what you mean about scrapping in a more simple way. I am headed in the direction too & I think some of my layouts have turned out nicer.

Love your mini album! Since DS is almost 23 yrs old, I have years of catching up to do. I envy those who started scrapping when their kids are young as a lot of the memories are gone with the photo ops. My preference would be the boy set as I am still working on DS’s albums.
Love the tags, such a fun idea. I’m beginning to scrap for my nephew.

You do a wonderful job! I enjoyed looking through all your posts and will be back again!!
~Tina

I love this scrapbook, Jessica! I have always wanted to scrapbook, but I’ve been intimidated by all the options and I’m a major perfectionist, so I end up not doing anything. Your blog has been very inspiring!
This looks awesome!!! We have three boys so I could definitely put this to use on the TONS of pictures that I have! Thanks!
I love that album and was looking for something to help document the month-to-month growth of my niece. I think I have a tablet of that paper, too, but if I don’t I will be looking for it soon! Thanks for the tips and recommendations!

I love the idea of a one year mini album. I continue to work on my three kids 12×12 one year albums and it can be overwhelming at times. I have the Nana’s nursery baby girl already. But I do not have the baby boy yet! It would come in handy for my 2 boys albums. Thanks for this ‘best of baby’ week! How fun!
That is perfect!
This is a great little mini. I just had my second little one… a little boy 🙂
Simply beautiful, I love your scrapbooking style!
Fabulous! I have a friend with a little boy who would love those supplies! I appreciate seeing your approach to the baby memories. I made a first year album for each of my kids…and made it as stressful as I could! oh well. I do enjoy looking at them now, and so do my kids. But if I had to do it all over again I would definitely put your tips to use!!
Those are so much fun! Boy, please. (I have Jake, an 11-month old who took his first steps last night – yikes!!) Thanks!
Oh my … it’s hard to keep up with all these great ideas and products … a new Mum of a 2 month old doesn’t have time to read and absorb all this!! ha! …
love these though … and can’t wait to keep reading on all your other ideas …
How cute was that!!! Thanks for the chance to win, love seeing what you do!!

I just gave birth to a girl. She is 15 days old today and I have started doing layouts of her. I did a 1 week old layout and can’t wait to do monthly layouts too. I would love to win the girl’s set so that I can do more gorgeous layouts of my baby Farah.
So cute! Love these!
Cute!! I have 2 boys, and the mini-album seems way less overwhelming to finish than the larger types.
