Moving Quickly
I am amazed by how quickly this month is going – and it is only going to go faster. This week will be the last week of normalcy until December.
A week from Monday, Matthew and I will be celebrating his birthday by going see Regina Specktor at the Ryman, our favorite music venue in all of Nashville. We have also seen Norah Jones, Annie Lennox and KT Tunstall there, as well as a few others. The acoustics and intimate vibe always make for a magical evening.
On Thursday, Nov. 19, I leave to go to Wisconsin for my Mom’s surgery on Nov. 20. Matthew and Elias will be staying in Nashville, per my Mom’s wishes. As the surgery date draws near, so does my drawing toward God. I pray for healing and a miracle – that she will come out of the surgery just as she is now. Of course, the devil likes to attack my thoughts, whispering what ifs and fears, but I do my best to push them aside and cling close to God.
He is faithful.
He is merciful.
He is just.
He is.
I get back to Nashville on Monday, Nov. 23 and have to go straight to work.
Tuesday, Nov. 24, after working all day, we go to Maryland for Thanksgiving/Christmas with Matthew’s family. We get back Nov. 30.
Whew.
I am so excited to be with family, but I know it is going to be crazy and exhausting. I am doing my best to be prepared. I boxed up Matthew’s family’s gifts and am shipping them this week so we won’t have to worry about flying with them and having extra luggage. I won’t be able to pack until next week, but I plan to do the Thanksgiving packing before I go home to Wisconsin.
For those of you that have asked, yes, I am planning to do a December Daily album this year, along with my project 365. I already have most of the album built and hope to share it in the next week or so, as well as few other Christmas classes/projects I am preparing.
