I’m Going to the DR with World Vision
I have never gone on a mission trip before.
I’ve wanted to go on one.
But haven’t.
But guess what?
That is all about to change.
In less than two months, I will travel to the Dominican Republic with World Vision on its first official blogger trip.
And I am so, so, so excited.
And humbled.
And a little nervous.
I know the experience is going to change my life. And I am praying that it changes yours too.
The purpose of the trip will be to share stories from World Vision’s communities in the Dominican Republic.
Stories of hope in a place that once felt hopeless.
Stories of communities becoming self-sufficient.
Stories of children becoming educated.
Stories of child sponsors making a difference in children’s lives.
More than 37,000 children are registered in World Vision’s sponsorship program in the Dominican Republic and several times this number of children and other family members benefit from World Vision activities.
The other bloggers who will be a part of the experience are:
- Andrea from Mommy Snacks
- Briana from Bargain Briana
- Amanda from Oh Amanda
- Jill from Diaper Diaries
Matthew will be leading the trip and blogging as well. Be sure to read his post announcing the trip. He shares some stories from when we were dating.

Having Matthew there will make it extra special for me. It also will the first-time we will both be away from Elias for more than one day. My family is going to keep Elias in Wisconsin while we are on the trip. It makes it easier to leave knowing that he is going to be very well-loved in our absence.
Please consider praying for each of us as we prepare for this trip. To learn more about the Dominican Republic and the work World Vision is doing there, click here.
I hope you will also consider praying about how you might be a part of the story.
I’M SO EXCITED!!!
