As the mother of a three-year-old, I hear a lot of hilarious things.
So I don’t forget the funny things Elias says, I write his cute sayings in this book, My Quotable Kid: A Parents’ Journal of Unforgettable Quotes
I have it sitting on my nightstand so that I can write things down before I go to bed. I did have it on my bookshelf, but I never would get it off the shelf and write in it. Having it sitting out helps a lot.

So funny because I remember you doing the giveaway years ago – I actually bought the book for myself but don’t have kids yet…one day it’s going to come in handy! I have a lot of friend’s with kids so I’m thinking about using it for funny things they say to me / when so I can look back & laugh. I wish I had done this with my nephew because he really did say the silliest things! 🙂
I bought that book after you did the giveaway, and so far have mainly written in it lists of her first words, words she pronounces differently (tookie = cookie, for example, and peatot = teapot) but with more and more sentences and complex thoughts every day, I know the real funny stuff is coming soon!
I have 4 copies of the book (one for each kid). I love the design and look of the book. And it’s amazing how quickly we forget what the kids say- because we are on to the next thing!
Oh yes, I have a journal I write it, tho most of the time I am more likely to put it on FB – try to go back every six months and make sure I actually wrote them down! Now that I have a 7 and 5 year old, their conversations are VERY entertaining!
I write in a Paper Coterie journal (thanks to you!). This is one of my favorite things to do because I hope my son will enjoy reading about himself in my own HANDWRITING (since everything else in our life is digital). My mom still quotes the things my brother and I said thanks to the books she kept over 35 years ago.

This is exactly what I use one of my Paper Coterie journals for:). I blog a lot but there’s something about having it sitting out to jot things in and knowing she will have my handwriting to look back on as I do with the little spiral notebook my mom used to write down my funny childhood phrases like when she was pregnant and I said “I can’t wait for the baby to wear my dresses!” and when they said “What if it’s a boy?” in two year old logic I replied “Well then he will look funny in my dresses.”:)
I use a simple planner/calendar to jot down the notable things my little guy does/says. I love that it’s already dated, so it’s a great reference for scrapbooking. Mine sits on the dining room table, so I can write while I wait for him to finish eating. (The child spent two hours eating his supper the other night!). It spent a week in my craft room and didn’t get written in, do it moved back to the table!
Oh little Elias is KILLING me. SO, so cute.
I have a journal where I’ve written down every honest, adorable, sometimes offensive, but mostly beautiful thing my kids have said. I’ve started posting them all on my website so others can share in the laughter.
